Arachnid leaned her back against the outside wall of the Red Base. A puff a smoke flew out of her mouth as she held the cigarette in her hand. Her hands shook due to the cancer stick. She smoked the cigar to try and relax herself even though she even knew it only made her tense.

"Ara, You know smoking is bad!" Hex said as she walked up to the other female.

"And? You think that is gonna stop me?" She spoke back inhaling the cigarette smoke.

Hex only sighed as she stood by Arachnid.

The cigar was starting to get short so Arachnid dropped it onto the desert ground. She placed the bottom of her boot and smushed it onto the floor. The redhead took out another cigarette and looked over to Hex.

"My lighter has been acting up, can you use you're magic and lit it for me?" Arachnid asked as she held the unlit cigar out.

Hex sighed.

"Okay fine. But only this one time!" The shorter girl responded as she made a small spurt of a green flame to light the cigar.

"Thanks merker," Arachnid spoke bringing the smoke up to her mouth.

"So... Ara.... you wanna talk, about... you know?" Hex queried nervously.

The question made Arachnid freeze. She didn't move an inch for awhile.

"I need to go," Arachnid spoke up as she stood up straight as she started to walk off.

"Ara! You can't just keep avoiding it!" Hex called out. She quickly went after Arachnid and placed her hand on the ginger's shoudler.

Her body was still as stone.

If you couldn't hear her soft breaths, you'd think she was statue.

"I'm just not ready.... yet,"

Arachnid pushed Hex's hand off her shoulder and continue to walk away.

Hex deeply sighed as she watched her dear freind walk farther and farther away. Arachnid was walking away just to not talk about it, she had nothing to do, they both knew that.

Hex turned around and went to walk back into the Red Base,

Another failed attempt.
