It was already the day of our surprise visit. Wala kaming klase ngayon since may holiday sa Los Baños kaya luluwas kami papuntang Quezon City. Buti nalang hindi traffic!
"Saan niyo gusto kumain?" I asked the girls. Baka kasi nagugutom na sila since maaga kaming umalis ng bahay. We wanted to be early para makagala rin around the city.
"Tara, UPTC? Let's look around nalang muna and decide there. Tapos punta tayong school nila after." Mich said while applying minimal makeup para magmukhang fresh.
It was already 12:00 PM when we arrived. Nagpababa kami sa entrance ng mall at naglibot na. We settled with a samgyupsalan kaya dumiretso kami roon. I just hoped the smell wouldn't stick, nakakahiya kay Jordi if I smelled like meat. We ordered three sets of pork and one set of beef. Malalakas kami kumain kaya kayang kaya naming ubusin ito. Mich got a can of Coke for herself whie Nat and I sticked with the service water. I wasn't a fan of soft drinks, e.
"Now that we're here, anong balak mong gawin?" Nat asked.
I actually didn't know. I just wanted to surprise Jordi since he always did the same for me. Gusto ko rin mag-effort para sa kanya, 'no? Hindi pwedeng siya lang.
"Hmm... ganito! Hingi mo nga 'yung sched ni Jordi doon sa captain mo." Mich told Nat and she took her phone out obediently.
"Nako! Hindi ka na nagkekwento sakin, Natalia Gwyneveere. Mamaya ka sakin!" I said to her.
She ignored my threat and went out of the restaurant para i-call si Collin. "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked Mich.
"Akala ko alam mo, e. She told me about it nung iniwan namin kayo ni Jords sa Starbucks. Hayaan mo na, magkaka-love life na ata 'tong si Natalia. Suportahan nalang natin!" She exclaimed.
"Lakas talaga ni Dimac, ah ah. Tinanong lang sakin kung anong pangalan ng kasama ko, biglang magkachat na sila." I said to myself while grilling meat.
Bumalik na si Nat at pinakita niya samin 'yung schedule nila Jordi. 3:00 PM pa 'yung awasan nila so tumambay lang kami sa isang coffee shop after namin inubos 'yung samgyupsal.
"So anong meron sainyo ni Captain?" I eyed Nat. I need answers! Aasarin ko pa si Collin mamaya.
"We're just friends." I didn't buy it.
"Friends, huh," sabi naman ni Mich. "E bakit magkachat lagi?" She continued.
"Bawal ba, ha? Kayo nga ni Jan, laging magkachat, e! Friends, my ass." Napatahimik si Mich sa banat ni Nat.
I was just amused with this mini sagutan of theirs. I enjoyed seeing them like this. Palaban kasi sila both.
"Tara na nga. 2:30 na, oh. Hintayin nalang natin si Jordi sa may corridor," I stood up and left the café.
I called Kuya Arman to pick us up in front of the mall. He arrived in no time at sumakay na kami sa kotse.
Nakarating kami sa UPIS, and there were a lot of students scattered around the campus. Baka vacant nila? I wasn't sure.
Dumiretso lang kami sa loob at sinundan si Nat. She was the one most familiar with the place. We waited in front of Jordi's room. I saw him through the window, buti nalang naka-focus 'yung attention niya sa prof.
They were dismissed and most of the students were looking at the three of us. E paano, naka-civilian kami tapos lahat sila naka-uniform. We weren't even students of the school.
