I wake up with the day. Today is a special day before a more special day. Tomorrow it will be my birthday ! I’m so happy ! It will be my first birthday since my mother and me are reconciled ! It will be perfect !

Today, we have to welcome our guests. It will be annoying I think, but I have to do that to make mum proud of me.

I go to the dining room where I find the rest of my family who are eating their breakfast.

“Hello mum” I say when I kiss her on her cheek.

“Hello  young lady !” she replies. “Are you ready for today ?”

“Well, I hope mum !” I laugh. “Hello  dad, hello boys!”

They reply me and I eat my breakfast faster than ever.

“Our guests will coming soon” I tell to my mother. “Can you help me to wear my dress and do my hair please ?”

“Yes Merida, come on! You will be the most beautiful girl that they have ever seen !”

We go to my room and my mum helps me to wear a dress identical to the one I was wearing when I met my suitors. After that, she helps me with my hair and looks at me with pride and love in her eyes.

“My lovely daughter” she says when she hugs me. “I’m the proudest mother of the world. You can’t imagine what I am happy to see you in that mood today! I hope you will find the boy who will love you as you will love him.”

“We are two” I replies to make her happier.

I’m not ready to marry someone, but I know she dreamed the day of my wedding since I was born. We will see what will happen today.

My three suitors are the first guests we welcome. They arrive a while after mum and me have taken place on our thrones.

I curtsy them when our parents are talking.

“Nice to see you again” I say. “I hope you will enjoy the ball of tomorrow.”

“If you save me a dance, I think I will love the ball” replies young McIntosh.

“Well, I think I can do that” I laugh.

                “Thank you, your Highness.”
