Thank you if you did! Bye!Zaik's POV
Setting my hair i glanced at my watch. I was early today than usual. "You up so early" i heard Imran pop through the door. "Yeah! By the way why are you up so early?" I asked. "Nothing much. Umm actually i am.." He trailed off scratching the back of his neck. "You what?" I asked confused. "He's getting married!!" That was safina squealing. "What!?" I asked shocked. He nodded slyly. "Oh gosh! Drama queen.. " i commented laughing. "Wedding bells here" Safi shouted walking away. "Anyways, who's the bride?" I asked curiously. "That is a surprise for you, you will meet her tomorrow" with that he ran downstairs. Who is he getting married to?
Alizeh's POV
The floor was freezing which made me wake up it was 7:00 already. Shit! I missed fajr. Last night's incident flashed at me. I decided to keep it to myself because it wouldn't make a difference as always.
I headed to the kitchen to get some breakfast, the aroma of the freshly baked pancakes hit my nostrils in no time. Yay pancake. "Asalamualikum" i shouted happily. "Walaikumsalam Aly. How are you dear" dad was the only one who paid heed to my words. "I am good Alhamdulilah." I said smiling. "Alizeh, we want you to come home early today." Mom said excitedly. "Why?" I asked taking a sip of my coffee. "Because we have got a proposal for you, which we feel is very amazing. The guy works in london. He is the owner of one of the most renowned businessman around the globe." He explained.
"But dad.." My throat went dry. "No its and buts they are coming to see you and you have to dress up and look pretty by hook or crook" mom said with finality. I nodded and gulped the lump fown my throat and left the house and took the bus in a daze. I am not in my senses. I lost my appetite so i skipped breakfast.
.
."What is it girl? Care to explain" dua said sensing my problem. "It's nothing come on lets go. We have to prepare for the exam" i diverted the topic. She sat on the floor stubbornly. "No no and no unless you tell me" she said folding her hands. "Okay now stop this drama i will" i said giving in. You must have known by now that no secrets can exist between us she would get to know by hook or crook.
I told her the whole story and her eyes went wide. "What the hell! Are you crazy. Just tell them you are not interested in marriage now." She yelled angrily. "It's gonna make no difference" i mumbled giving her a sad smile. "My dreams and wishes are nothing for the world. I am a lone piece of shit. No one loves. " i said my voice cracking. She didn't let me finish she quickly hugged me tight comforting me.
Evening
I looked at the mirror all ready i was wearing a white embroidered kurti. Simple yet elegant just the way i like it. Mom had instructed me to wear a long pink gown with off shouldered sleeves, which i wouldn't even think of wearing. So i switched to this one. I applied very light makeup with a little concealer, kohl and gloss. After setting my hijab in my signature style i started pacing through the room. What if they find me ugly. What would happen if they don't let me study further. Negativity was killing me with each passing second until i heard a knock on the door. "Alizeh mom asked to come downstairs." I heard Esha yell.
"Coming" i shouted back sighing. I slowly tiptoed down the stairs after glancing at the mirror one last time. I could hear distant chatters. As i walked to the lounge my legs were getting heavier, "Asalamualikum " i muttered as i entered the place. "Waalaikumsalam" i heard multiple responses. I lifted my gaze after gathering great courage. There was a pretty lady probably in her mid forties, a man looking a little old. Then my eyes landed on a familiar figure. Oh gosh! That's him. My world stopped. I don't know why but fear engulfed me with his stare. It's that Shehryaar. "Alizeh, i see" i heard his mom say. I nodded. "Have a seat" she says. I did as she said.
