Unspoken Troubles [on hold]

Chapter 6

"I don't really know that much about, I guess I should call it, our kind. Can you teach me?" I ask Daniel. We were just walking around the garden. He kept grabbing and holding my hand. I found it sweet.

"Sure I guess, come on there's a seat over here" he said dragging me through some bushes. I wasn't scared of being alone with this guy.

"Well, I'll start with this as it is pretty relevant. Werewolf pregnancies don't last as long as human ones. It's about 6 or 7 months rather then the 9."

"Wow, I guess I really need to start preparing then" I said to him. I thought I had more time then that.

"If you don't mind me asking..." He hesitated. "Why did you decide to keep it?"

"I couldn't bare the thought of ending a life like that. It didn't seem fair." I told him honestly.  

"So what else is in this world that is so new to me?"

He laughed. It was a magical sound. "Were's have mates. It's pretty cool. I see your confused look don't worry I'll explain." 

I laughed when he said that. I guess it was obvious on my face.

"Mates are a Were's soulmate. Someone they are destined to be with. They will be loved by this person unconditionally. Well most of the time anyway." He said. 

"Look Carly, there's something I wanna tell you. I don't want you to freak out or anything just understand."

"Am I your mate?" I ask him straight out. His jaw drops and it looks like all function just stopped.  

He shakes his head to snap out of the daze. 

"Yes, you are." He takes my hand. And looks at me like he's gunna scare me away. 

"Please don't run. I just want to get to know you. Not push you into anything. I know you have been through a lot and all this is a shock. Just let me be there for you."

I laugh. "What a fucked up 24 hours I've had. This time yesterday I was held captive by a psycho. I found out I was pregnant. Also found out I was a wolf. And have had to move. Now I have a mate."

He looked sad. "I understand. I'll leave you be for now. I just wanted you to know coz I'll be a little over protective of you. Come see me anytime if you need to talk." He got up to walk away.

"Please stay..." I whisper begged him.

He turned to me again looking shocked.

I giggled. "Why are you always looking at me shocked?"

"You surprise me Carly. No one ever does that. You are unique. But why do you want me to stay? I thought it was too much?" He asked, returning to sit by side, again holding my hand.

"I know it's a lot. But why not deal with it all now? It's not like I could put it off or anything. And it will be easier with you around. It will probably be harder on you then me. I mean, your mate is having a baby that's not yours... I'm being selfish wanting you here." I say. 

"Nope, not selfish if I wanna be here. And it's not your or your baby's fault. I will do my best though."

"What a day Daniel. Thank you for being honest and kind to me..."

He pulled me up from the seat, wrapped an arm around my shoulder dragging me back to the house. 

"Thank you for forgiving me." He says then places a kiss to my temple.

When we got back to the house lunch was ready. Daniel and I walked in hand in hand and everyone stopped and stared at us. I got a dirty look from every single pack member but Daniels parents , my brother and Tiff's family. 

Daniel sat down next to his father and when I went to sit next to him this blonde girl pushed me and sat there. 

"Spending time with scum Daniel? You better not be cheating on me with that whore." Said and sniffed me. "Ugh and a pregnant whore at that." Some pack members laughed at her cruel words. I went to walk to my room when I heard a thud. I turned around to see Tiff standing over blondie who was now on the floor.

"You bitch! That better not bruise! When I'm Luna you will be the first thing to go! Then that whore and bastard child!"

I heard a threatening growl. "You will never be Luna. My mate will be." Daniel then turned to address the pack, who was watching with disgust, amusement and pity. He grabs my hand and pulls me beside him. "Carly is my mate. You will show her respect. You do not know her situation so you will not judge her." 

He then returns to his seat. Pulling me to sit beside him and Tiff beside me. She smiles at me. I guess she already knew about mates.

"Congrats you two." My brother says. I can see he likes Daniel. Or at least approves of him.

"Wait, Luna? I'm going to help you run the pack? I didn't even know about were's until yesterday!" I whisper yelled at him.

A few people around us tried and failed to muffle their laugher. My brother and Daniels parents being a few.

"Don't worry my Luna, you will be fine" he said with a smile and laughter.

"Dude, stir her I dare you. See what happens." My brother warns him.  

He laughs it off then turns to me and pales at the look I'm giving him. 

"Carly.." 

I growl at him shutting him up. The whole pack has stopped their chatter and is now paying attention to the scene infront of them. 

"Maybe you should have told me that little piece of information before Daniel!"

"Pregnancy hormones make the alpha females like bombs waiting to detonate. I think Daniel has met his match."

"Bloody oath, my money is on Carly."

"I reckon he can defuse this, he is pretty smart."

"Smarts has nothing to do with it. You don't know her, you don't piss her off." I hear Tiff say to the chattering pack. 

 

"I didn't want to overwhelm you, in my defence though, you knew I was going to be alpha." Daniel tries to reason.

"Alpha Ben, do you have another son? This one isn't gunna make it through the night." I hear Leo tell him.

"YOU THINK THAT'S A GOOD ENOUGH EXCUSE TO NOT TELL ME?" I blow up.  

He grabs my hand. "You are right Carly. I am extremely sorry for my lapse in judgement."

"Okay" I say and settle in next to him cuddling as close as I can get and start to eat the lunch infront of me.

"Told you he could defuse that." A pack member pipes up.  

"Future Luna, my name is Ven. It is a pleasure to meet the one who will keep our dear old boy here in check. I will be your Beta. Which is second in command."

"Nice to meet you Ven" I say to him.

"You will be fine" he winks at me. "You can hold your own,"

"I'm glad you think so. But if I could I wouldn't be in this position..." I tell him wrapping my arms around my stomach. 

I turn to Daniel. "I'm not feeling well, I'm going to go back to my room. Thank you for everything."

I got up and ran back to my room. How could he say I can handle myself. If I could handle myself I wouldn't have gotten kidnapped, or raped. 

I threw myself onto the bed and cried. Tiff came into the room and cuddled up next to me. Holding me and letting me cry.  

It's the first time I've cried since I've been home, and found out everything. I was grieving for the life I left behind.
