There's a woman sited on a chair in a black, shiny, leather overall and black heeled boots, her legs and arms crossed and her black straight hair falling down to her shoulders looking into a recording camera saying...........
Woman: [sighs] ah, well this is the year 2032 February 11. No family, no allies, so many secrets and hypocrites so annoying. The famous Maghandi, fake! [Laughs out] I've come to think of it, I'm glad I got all I accomplished, just to throw it all away, all the sweat and hard work. [She tears a little and quickly wipes] a whole nineteen years thrown away [raises her voice and leans forward towards the camera] just because of a worthless so-called fake president who I grew up believing in! [Tones down her voice and leans back] I got so much, so much and at this point I just don't know what to do with them. I wish any of my family members could see this, who I am now, what I've become. They'd be disappointed! I have two PHDs and five degrees all going to be lost, my family, all dead because of one man and his legion of course. [Cries for a second and wipes her tears and looks back at the camera] life's a b**** ain't it? It all started in the year 1990.
In the year 1990 at one of the Colombian general hospitals a baby girl was born. There was a loud cry with so many smiles on everybody's face, the physicians and this baby girl's parents. The smiles of the parents were actually wider with tears in their eyes you could tell that this was a loving family indeed.
Female doctor: have you decided on a name yet?
The couple looks at each other and smiles.
Mother: Mariana Volcano
Mr. Volcano: yes, Mariana Guerrero Volcano
Mrs. Volcano: [smiles] yes even better. [Looks at the baby in her arms and smiles] my little warrior and star of the sea.
Nurse: really meaningful names, very beautiful [smiles].She was always a jovial child but her parents were very busy people who were mostly going out for their missionary work to help refugees who escaped the apartheid by the Iraqi and Afghanistan terrorists that had a long-term plan of building a whole new country in a barren abandoned area in some desert. This country would be rich in power and wealth, eventually rule the world with it. So many people put their money and heads together for this project. On the news the only thing they could talk about, was people dying and others getting captured as slaves to build this country, Ramdan. In this missionary work, her parents were the leaders of the movement and always loved to get hands-on in this job. They barely spent some time with her because she was still very young to be going on such trips with them, but they still always spent time to go back to her. She always stayed back with her fathers best friend, Dave Johnson an African-American with his wife Trisha Johnson also African-American whom she grew to call uncle and aunt. They were shareholders and agents for the missionary except they could work from home. Her parents were rich Colombians owing a big mining company, asides from their missionary work.
The Volcanos had just arrived outside their mansion in their car and little Marianna came running to hug her parents.Mr. V: [with a wide smile bent down to receive her while holding he's hands mid-air to carry her] my little buddy.
Mariana: daddy!!! [Hugs him really tightly]
Mrs. V: where's mama's hug? [Smiles]
Mariana: [smiles] wait. [She gets down and runs back to the door then comes back running towards her]
Mrs. V: [laughs and bends down to receive her] my little warrior. How was school? [They walked into the house as their voices got distant]
Mariana: [with so much enthusiasm and energy] it was okay!
Mr. V: really?
Mariana: I learnt....... [The door was shut]They sat down all five of them to eat their dinner. All four adults laugh then Dave notices Marianna isn't okay.
Dave: what's wrong?
Mariana: .........
Trisha: [smiles at her] I think I know what it is [looks at the other three]
All four: [sing] happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday happy birthday, happy birthday to you! [They cheer loudly and clap] whooooo!!!!!
Mariana: I thought you forgot
Mrs. V: how can we possibly forget? I mean I prepared your favourite, lasagne and here we have some treats; all your favourite candy with.....
Mariana: [smiles] you all being here is my greatest gift
All four: aww..
Mariana: [folds her arms and makes a straight face] what did you get for me daddy? I mean uncle D and Aunt Trish got me a bicycle and a delicious breakfast.
Trisha: yep that's correct..
Dave: [in a cheeky voice] yeah, what did you get daddy?
Mr. V: [smiles] actually.......
Mariana: I read in some book that fathers never know their child's age, is it true? How old am I?
Mr V: [laughs in suspicious way] what, of course I know your age.
Mrs. V: okay how old is she?
Mr. V: whose side are you on?
Trisha: answer the question
Dave: [laughs from the inside]
Mr V: I think.......
Mrs. V: you think!
Dave: [laughs]
Mr. V: seven! [Shakes he's head with a smile while looking at Mariana]
Mariana: yes! Daddy you got it right [jumps on he's laps and hugs him]
Mr. V: [mouthing] thank goodness I got it right
All four: [laugh]
Mariana: how about my present?
Mr. V: ahhhh...... How about you start coming with mommy and daddy on their work, huh?
Mariana: yes! [Jumps in excitement]
Mrs. V: no, its too dangerous.
Mariana stops jumping and gets sad.
Mr. V: were moving camp.
Trisha: why don't you come with me [pulls Mariana]
Dave: let's give time for mommy and daddy to talk peacefully knowing they need to keep it down [smiles].They leave and shut the dinning door while they go to her room.
Mariana: they're going to fight right?
Trisha: why don't you get into the blankets it's bedtime for you [tucks her in]. Your parents are just talking things out.
Mariana: but will I go with them?
Trisha: ..........
Mariana: I want to go with them
Trisha: you'll go sweetie [pecks her on the forehead] goodnight now close your eyes.
Mariana: [closes while Trisha switches off the light]While........
Mrs. V: so what if were moving camp? You know what we face on a constant basis we can't put her life in such danger
Mr. V: we're just going to the camps of Germany. They can't get into European borders you know that...
Dave: [walks in] thankfully you actually managed to keep it down.
Mrs. V: is she......
Dave: she's with Trisha, she's in bed already. What's going on?
Mrs. V: he thinks Mariana will be safe in camp with us
Dave: mahn, your wife has a point, those people have no limit.
Mr. V: I know that, the thing is; we were hiding amongst the Somalians first then they came to us and starting even taking some Africans to do their work like in Kenya, Uganda and Somalia itself. We moved camp near them in Kazakhstan because its unexpected right, they came. So we decided to move camp into Europe because this is the one place they can't touch with Maghandi as president.Mrs. V: so......
Mr. V: so, meaning its safe to have Mariana with us
Dave: okay so which country will you take them to?
Mrs. V: Germany which honestly I don't trust to have my child in.
Dave: it's within. I mean I've been there, in fact both of us have. Back in the day when war was upon us we'd send our injured soldiers to Germany and they were safe there. Trust me your daughter will be fine, besides you've spent seven years of her life always out, only a few months have you spent with her.
Mrs. V: [sighs] fine, but we make sure she's safe at all times.
Mr. V: yeah, yeah. Thanks mahn. The next morning they give Mariana the good news and she's so excited. They first stayed home for a month then later head out.
Mariana runs out with her little suitcase taking it into their car while her father loads up the rest of the bags.
Mrs. V: thank you so much Trisha for all your help these past years I honestly don't know how to repay you.
Trisha: no need, you're already caring for many of my fellow brothers and sisters [they hug].
Dave: so when will we see you next?
Mr. V: expect us in a year's time [they shake hands and hug]
Mariana: I'll miss you uncle D and aunt T [she hugs them both]
Both: aww. We'll miss you more
Trisha: be good to your parents
Mariana: I will
Dave: remember what I told you.
Mariana: I have a soldier's heart, I must use it.They all get into the car and drive off while waving. Mariana turns to face the back windscreen as she sees her uncle and aunt disappear slowly. They drive through the borders till they get to Germany.
