The Unforgettable Anniversary and Unexpected Reunion

It's the 7th of October, 2014. Tomorrow will be 8th. Not just an ordinary day but it is our 1st Anniversary... Hooorrray!!!

We already talked about what's gonna happen on our day. We want it to be simple celebration. Go somewhere and eat in a restaurant.

BUT..... bad news just came.

Ting! (chatbox msg from Christine)

Tin: Hey! Have you heard the news?

Me: What news???

Tin: Kath died just this morning. My sister told me.

Me: WHAT????? Are you serious??? (But... But I thought.....)

Tin: Later her family will bring her to Cinco Estrellas Funeral Homes. Are you free today?

Me: I can't I have school today. Can we just go tomorrow?

Tin: Okay. Just text me.

End of chat.

If you're wondering who is Kath, Kath is my 13 years bestfriend. That's a very long years of friendship right? Anyways, after she graduated as an accountant, she was about to sign a contract to a government company to work when she experience something unusual to her body. She's always sick, experience nose bleeding often and feels weak most of the time. To make the story short, her family decided to bring her to the hospital to be checked and she was then diagnosed of Stage 3 Lymphoma. A cancer that effects blood and a stage cancer that attacks her immune system already. Then she died at the age of 22.

9:00 in the evening, Neil and I talked about Kath and I told him we'll probably change are plan for tomorrow. Neil undertands me and agreed on my decision.

Before Kath was diagnosed of having cancer, she told me that she wanted to see Neil in person. And I promised her that the 3 of us will meet in our free time.

I know this is not a very good idea but I just wanted to keep my promise. Neil and I will come to her wake to see each other. I know she can't see him anymore by her physical body's own eyes, but her spirit can.

Oct. 8, 2014, 6:00pm, Wednesday

My other bestfriend Jazz, Neil and I come together to Kath's wake.

We're now here at Cinco Estrellas Funeral Homes and I was shaking and my hands are cold.

I was still at the open door when my tears fell down my cheeks as I see the plain white coffin. I know she's the one inside but I don't wanna see her. I just can't believe that my very strong and fighter  bestfriend is now dead.

We were sitting on a long chair when one by one our high school friends came. Indeed, it was great to see my old classmates but sad because it is our unexpected reunion and one of us is dead.

3 hours later, Neil and I decided to go. We go near the coffin and see her from the coffin's glass.

"Hey Kath. I know you are in good hands now. I just want to thank you for 13 years of friendship you share with me. I know it's too late but I just want to let  you see Neil like I promised. Here he is.", says I while beside Neil and crying.

"Hi Kath. Sorry if we didn't see each other when you're still living.", says Neil.

"We have to go now. I will just pray for you and your family. Be happy now.", says I while wipping my tears. 

9:30 in the evening, Neil and I went to the mall. It was a veeeerrryyy mixed emotion. I was sad and happy at the same time and you know why. But I choose to smile because it's time for our anniversary now even if it's already kinda late at night. Still, we eat in a restaurant, gift giving, and talk about funny stuff. Then he brought me home safe. Gave each other hugs and kisses then says Goodnights.

This part of my story makes me cry but I hope this will never happen again. I just don't like someone leaving in any way.

Anyways, I hope you're still liking my story. I made every chapter short because I don't want my readers to get bored by reading a verrrrrrrrryyyyyy long story in just 1 chapter.
