"I HATE YOU!" I shout at my step dad as I grab my phone and keys "I'm bored of you controlling my life and breaking my mom's heart at least once a week!" I shout out of my lungs and open our front door I'm a crying mess
"Hope get back in here!" He shouts at me
"You're not my father get over it!" And with that he slaps me. I run out of my house in the rain I catch him shouting
"Yes right blame me for your father abandoning you" Then he slams the door
In that second I bump into someone "ohh I'm so sorry" I tell him as I get myself together
"Thought day huh?" He says looking at me then at my house
"Yeah we could say that" I sight " Listen I don't know how much you've seen from that" I stay quiet for a few seconds then continue "let's just say my step dad and I can't get along. Anyways I have to go" I say and start running
"Bye" I hear him mumble and I chuckle.
I run to my best friend's house and explain her what just happened. "My step dad just got mad at me for no reason again. Like I'm 23 years old and my step dad is still controlling me like 'you can't wear that' and 'don't be in your room all day' why am I still living with my parents ?" I complain
"You can stay here as long as you want and everyone knows Charles is a dick and also here take these, you're soaking wet" Katie says and she gives me some dry clothes. She moved in with her boyfriend Andrew a year ago and they always let me stay with them.
"Thanks. Also as I ran out of my house I ran into a cute guy" I smile and get dressed "but then I made everything awkward and ran here" I say laughing
"Hope" Katie says and starts laughing "this is New York I'm sure you'll see him again"
