The Unexpected --Dylan O'Brien

chapter 5

Once that first tear breaks free, the rest follows in an unbroken stream.

As I get myself back together I realize I have no where to go. Dylan calls me and I answer. I try my hardest to stay strong and not to cry. I am a week person and I hate it!

"Hey Dylan, sorry I forgot to text you, I had to leave" I tell him the truth

"Hey it's fine" He sights "are you alright?" He asks I sight and nod trying to convince my self that I'm alright

"Yes I am" I say with a fake smile on my face even though I know he can't see me.

"Where are you? I'm coming to get you. I can't hear it on your voice that you're not okay" He says and I can hear him pick up his keys

I tell him the address and in a few minutes he is here. He gives me a strong and warm hug which gives me shivers down my spine.

My tears escape again. Dylan whispers some calming things in my ear and I finally calm down. We talk for hours.

"I have a spare bedroom" He says out of nowhere and I look at him confused "move in, you can stay as long as you want. It's a quiet neighborhood" I stop him

"Dylan I really appreciate it thank you but I can't do that" I look in his eyes excitement is all over his face. I just met him what likes 3 days ago or 4 not even a week ago. He's basically a stranger...

Somehow he managed to convince me...

Dylan drives us to his house and he helps me get my stuff from my car in my new room. After we're done he orders food for us and I start packing out my stuff. This is the room I slept in last night. Dylan pops his head in and I chuckle

"We can re decorate it how ever you want it" He says smiling

"Thank you but it's already perfect" I smile

"Okay then, I'll be in the living room if you need me. I just need to get some work done" He says and I nod. He walks away and I sit down on the bed and let out a huge sight

My mom calls me and I answer "hey mom what's up?" I ask her

"I'm sorry about what happened today, I begged him not to kick you out. Where are you? Are you okay? Do you want me to get you? We can stay in a motel together if you don't want to be alone" She says worried

"I'm fine I'm with a friend. I'll be staying with him for a while and I feel like it will be better for me here Charles and I can't really get along anyways but mom I'm telling you. You're not happy with him, he is toxic I would do anything to help you get rid of him and get our old life back" A tear drops down my face

"I know honey but I can't we would have to leave the country then so he could never find us and I just can't do that to you" She says "I'll figure something out but I have to go now he is back, take care love you" She says

"Love you mom" I say and hang up

When my dad left my mom was so broken, she met Charles a few months later and they instantly fell in love during the first year of their relationship it was wonderful it was like they were soulmates they were really happy all the time, but then he changed I found out he started cheating on my mom he got super aggressive and controlling. I wasn't able to leave the house to meet friends or even go to school outings the only place I could go to is school and to the shop to buy him alcohol. He just hated me and treated my mom and I terribly.

A few years ago I promised my mom that we will get rid of him I'll help her with anything but she refuses. I want her to be happy again...
