The evening traffic was thick as usual. Dawuni cursed as he stopped at another traffic light. Blue Bird estates wasn't very far but the traffic had made Dawuni spend more time, and he was impatient.

There was no doubt that the bracelet was Monique's. He had seen the same curvise initials on a necklace she wore.

Dawuni was a little surprised. Monique didn't look like the type of woman who would get her hands dirty to do something. But how else had the bracelet gotten to the Little Boy? He needed answers, and Monique would've to give them to him. He wasn't ready for that sassy attitude of hers.

The light turned green and Dawuni heaved a sigh of relief . He stepped on the accelerator and tried to move as fast as he could, in the midst of the traffic.

By the time he parked in front of the house, it was getting dark. Dawuni knocked on the door and prayed silently that she wouldn't be sleeping again.

No one answered. He tried the doorbell a number of times and received the same results. Standing on the porch, Dawuni could see that the lights inside were on and so were  the ones outside.

He was about to knock again, when he heard a low moan coming from inside. Dawuni frowned.

He tried the door handle, it wasn't locked. Dawuni opened the door slowly and stepped inside. He froze in shock.

There lying on the floor and barely breathing, was Monique.
