Maybe if I continue to glare at him, he'll go away.

He winked at me.

Darn it.

Taking a huge, manly bite out of my pizza, I turned away, chomping obnoxiously in a very turn off kind of way. I could still feel his eyes burning into my skull, though. I wiped the junk off of my face, growling in annoyance.

I could almost feel his smile.

"Um Farrah?" Sarah leaned across the table towards me. "You do realize that a really hot guy is staring at you like you're head suddenly turned into a huge hamburger, right?"

I let my annoyance show. "Yes, I'm very aware"

"Than why are you chomping like you have a jaw disorder, or something?"

"Because I'm not interested"

"He's hot, though!"

"And I know his type" I claimed. "A cocky, overconfident, class A jerk, who makes a girl feel special when he noticed her. Then, after he bangs her, he never calls back, and you're reduced to a one night stand status"

Her eyes widened, her mouth falling open in shock. I chuckled quietly.

"Are you serious?" She asked in disbelief. "How do you know that?

I shrugged. "I know guys, that's how"

"Let's get out of here" I nodded my agreement, throwing my tip down on the table, and standing up quickly. Sarah followed me out the door, sticking to my side like a demon was coming after her, and I was her guardian angel.

"Hey, have you done the math homework yet?" I asked. She looked at me like I was crazy.

"Of course" I rolled my eyes, chuckling.

"You're such a nerd" I laughed. "Anyway, can I see what you got for number one through twelve?"

"Farrah, that's every single problem"

"Damn it!" I exclaimed. "I was hoping that you wouldn't pick up on that"

"I'm the nerd, remember?"

I swore under my breath.

"I have so much homework, though" I whined.

"It's your own fault!" She pointed out. "You miss all the time"

"It's not my fault! I can't control it!"

"I'm going to lock you in the hospital" she grumbled. "Maybe then you won't get sick so much"

I winced at the lie that she clearly believed.

"Whatever..."

"Hey!" Sarah was suddenly all bubbly again. "Have you noticed Thayer lately?"

I had to stop myself from tensing up. I love Sarah, but she always seems to gossip about all the things I don't want to hear about.

"No" I lied. "What about him?"

"I think he's on drugs" I almost spit out my drink.

"Why do you say that?"

"Because, he has huge bags under his eyes and he's suddenly super pale. He just shuffles through the hallway like a ghost or something. And in class, he just zones out, like he's in his own little world, fighting a battle with himself. It's scary, Farrah. I've never seen him so...depressed"

A lump in my throat made it hard for me to swallow. I had been avoiding Thayer all week. I haven't seen him once, and from the sounds of it, I'm glad that I hadn't. My shoulder burned then, reminding me of why I was mad at him in the first place.
