Chapter Six:

Throw me under.

Third person

Jacob and Sterling were fighting. Sterling wanted to know more about Jacob and as soon as he asked, he try'ed and failed to explain. He'd wanted to tell him, Sterling was his best friend.

Jacob panicked and locked him out again, him and Lux. All Jacob had been doing is locking himself into his room right after work and hasn't spoken to them in over a week.

"Jake, I'm sorry, please just talk to me? Please!?" Sterling had gotten to this point all on his own, he'd gotten a small taste of the funny, healthy, smiling, sarcastic and most of all, friendly, Jacob and he just couldn't go back, Jacob was the best friend sterling ever had. "Please? I won't ask you about your mom anymore..." he said leaning against Jacobs door

Jacob sighed opening the door. Turning to Sterling and smiling. "Sterling, I have a story to tell you." Sterling smiled hesitantly and nodded.

"When I was five..."

-Flashback- Jacob

"Jacob, come downstairs." My Monther called me. It was my birthday, I was turning six in four hours, I was counting down the minutes and watching my dearest Mother dance around the kitchen with glee. I noticed slight tremors in her walk and stutters in her talk, this was something normal to me and I let it escape me, for there was nothing I could do.

"Oh mister sandman, give me a dream~." sang my mother, she was gifted at it too.

"Mother, you must be the most beautiful person alive." I smiled fondly, lovingly. I really loved my mother. I truly believe she was the most beautiful woman alive.

"Jacob, dear. I could only dream of being that beautiful." Elaine, my mother, giggled and pitched one of my cheeks.

"I'll be right back Mother!" I said running off. I ran up to my room in a hurry, planning to get my favorite hat for my birthday party in the park, in my hast, l slipped and fell just in time to see a strange figure in the hallway. Hearing someone whispering, I got up and walked closer. Elaine had no clue this was happening, just baking and singing in the kitchen. I could hear her.

I slowly followed the strange person in the house, apprehensive in doing such. In this situation, I suppose I should have called my Mother and ask'd her to see if it was safe for them to be there. When the figure turned he corner, I lost it and it was gone. Perturbed, I looked around and noticed something...

I wasn't home anymore.

"Jacob? Jacob!? Where did you go!?" I yelled, frantic.

Searching for Jacob.

I searched for three and a half hours, straight. Not to mention calling the police four times and all of Jacob's friends and their parents.

I was so worried... Worried his father had come back...

-- Jacob

"WHO'S THERE?! MOTHER?! HELP ME?!" I yelled, I was frantic. I looked around, finding myself in a forest. It was dark, and cold.

"Hush, Jacob. See, your mother isn't here, she is with your sister searching for you." I was stilled under someone's hand. I didn't know who it was. I was terrified.

"You don't know me. I know you though, Jacob. I'm your father." when the strange man said that he dissipated and I was back in my neighborhood. Only one problem...

I was in the middle of the road in front of my house, and a semi-truck was driving towards me at seventy miles per hour. Suddenly my Mother was standing at my side and pulled me into the house before I could say a word or change my expression.
