Most people the age 17 or older put their names in the Goblet of Fire because they all wanted to be champions. I don't blame them. I wanted to be a champion too, and apparently so did the Weasley twins.
"Done it," Fred said loudly. "Just taken it."
"What?" said their brother Ron.
"The Aging Potion, dung brain," said Fred.
"One drop each," said George, rubbing his hands together with glee. "We only need to be a few months older."
"I'm not sure that this is going to work you know," said Hermione Granger (a friend of mine and Lilly's in Gryffindor) warningly. "I'm sure Dumbledore will have thought of this."
The twins ignored her.
"She's right you know," Lilly said. "I mean do whatever you want, and possibly get in trouble, but I'll bet three sickles Dumbledore did think of this."
"Whatever Thornwall." George replied. "Ready George?" Fred said to his twin, quivering with excitement. "C'mon, then- I'll go first-"
Everyone watched with excitement as Fred pulled out a piece of paper out of his pocket with the words Fred Weasley - Hogwarts written on it. Fred walked up to the Goblet rocking on his toes like a five year old. Then with the eyes of everyone upon him, he took a breath and dropped the paper with his name on it into the Goblet.
Everyone thought that it had worked- including George, so he let out a triumphant yell and leapt after Fred- but next moment they got shot ten feet from the Goblet and grew long identical white beards.
The entrance hall roared with laughter. Even the twins joined in, once they had a good look at each other's beards.
"I did warn you," said an amused voice, and everyone turned around to see Professor Dumbledore coming out of the Great hall. "I suggest you both go up to Madam Pomfrey. She is already tending to Miss Fawcett, and Mr. Summers, who both decided to age themselves a little too. Though I must say, neither of their beards look anything like yours."
Fred and George got sent to the hospital wing, along with their best friend Lee, who was howling with laughter.
Me and Lilly had one last laugh before going down to breakfast.
"Well! That was fun!" Lilly said.
"Yeah it really was," I replied. "It really was."
