Jasey's POV

To say I was nervous was an understatement. I don't know why I was doing this. I mean I know I have to, its a damn 40% on my final grade but right now I didn't care. i really didn't want to face this crowd. especially after everything has happened. He could be out there, standing in the crowd. Spreading his lies to anyone listening. i couldn't do this, sure I know how to sing, Im not nervous of my vocal abilities I'm more nervous about what people think. i mean more than half the school hates me, and i didn't even do anything. God why did i have to do this. 

Carson should be here right now and i have no idea where she is. I didn't even know where she went, she refused to tell me. i mean she's a shit liar anyone could tell that. but she said she'd be back ten minutes ago and i was freaking out more than ever. suddenly a voice catches my attention

"I'm so sorry i got caught up with something" she starts but i don't giver her time to finish.

"where the hell were you?! I'm sitting here freaking out and my best friend isn't even here! what if i had to go on? what was more important than this right now?" i wasn't trying to snap at her but i was already freaking out and she caused me to freak out even more.

"I'm so sorry i can't tell you' she started, "i promise I'll tell you soon, right now you need to get ready!" i could say i wasn't mad at her but that was a lie. i mean what's with all the secrets today? i can't handle this.

"I'm not doing it" i said calmly. I knew i wanted to do this but right now it felt like i couldn't even take two steps.

"you have to jasey its a big part of your grade, now hurry up and get ready you're gonna do amazing." she starts, honestly i was expecting to fight her on this but i guess not today. 

she pushes her blonde hair out of her face and gives me a warm smile. she's always been so pretty, i wish i looked like her.

"I'm gonna go back in the crowd and watch okay? you better walk out on that stage okay? i know you'll do great, i gotta get back out the the- i mean i gotta get back out there okay? I'll see you after!" she rambles before exiting the room. That was weird, now i definitely know she was hiding something. who was she with? was it multiple people? i couldn't think about it to much i needed to finish getting ready.

once i finished curling my split dye hair and i finished my makeup i heard my name being called for places. Oh god, i mean its now or never huh? i pull on my leather jacket and fix my button up shirt. i couldn't believe i looked so much like Luke Hemmings right now. it wasn't even planned i just liked this outfit. 

It was still bothering me that I don't know where Carson went. I mean what could she be hiding from me? Did she not like me anymore? Did she believe the rumors? Was she hanging out with Andrew? So many questions running through my head. I know I shouldn't worry, I've known Carson for over a year, we have no secrets. She's my best friend. the only person who's stayed with me throughout all of this chaos. 

"Good luck! there's like 200 people out there" a stagehand said as she walked past. Was there really? My stomach sunk to the floor. there was no way I could do this. not in front of that many people. before I had time to think about it my name was being called again.

"Jasey! there you are come on you're about to start" Mr. Robinson was beaming. he was my music performance teacher and the whole reason I had to do this. I smiled slightly at him before my mind started racing again.

i went through the setlist in my mind like fifty times

It was short I know but we could only pick 5 songs. I really didn't want to sing a couple of these songs especially with everything going on but i finalised the set list months ago ad i couldn't change it. i made this list back when i was still with him, back when i was still happy. I begged and pleaded to Mr. Robinson to let me change the set list, but he wouldn't budge. To be completely honest ever since the whole thing with Andrew blew up teachers hadn't looked at me the same. they probably knew, and they probably believed him. I mean he was always a teachers pet.

I know I can't put this off forever so I grab my guitar and stand on the side of the stage out of view. i guess i really had to do this. the crowd only fueled me with confidence, and nervousness. everyone was cheering and screaming as the lights go down. i guess its now or never, so i walk out hoping that everything goes well.
