Allie's POV:
The rest of the day goes by and I don't see Flynn or Julie. I'm really getting worried. I have no idea how I'm going to make it up to them. When I get home I see my dad going through some papers and smile.
I quietly close the door and place my backpack on the ground before jumping on his back, scaring him. I laugh when he jumps and let go of him. "Good, you're home, where's you sister?" He asks. I just shake my head and he nods in understanding.
I look at all the papers in front of him. "What's all this?" I ask. "Ah, you know, just some stuff on other schools with music programs, and...and some private lessons stuff. I know it looks like a mess, but your dad's got this." He says. I grin.
"You know, you can look at this stuff for a few more hours or you can throw it all away and be happy that I got back in at school." I say. He turns to me, his eyes lighting up. "Wait. Wait what? You're not joking me right now?" He asks.
"Nope. I went down and put on a show with some ghost...getters. Go getters, and Principal Lessa let me back in." I say, quickly catching myself. "Yes!" He exclaims, throwing the papers in the air. I laugh as they scatter on the ground.
"You're awesome. I'm so happy for you. You are the best." He then realizes he has to pick up the papers he just threw. "I got it. I got it." He says, kneeling on the ground and picking them up. I grab one paper. "The Australian School of Music?" I ask, eyebrows raised.
"Well, I was planning on flying you home for Christmas." He says. I just shake my head and put the paper on the table before heading back out to the garage where I know the boys are. My mood shifts when I hear them playing. Sighing I enter the garage.
It's just Luke and Reggie in here. I wonder where Alex is. "Guys, you can't be playing out here alone, my dad could walk in on you." I say. "But we're not alone. We have each other." Reggie states. I just roll my eyes, going over to the amps. I quickly unplug Reggie.
"Hey, it was only on level on." Luke says. "But we rocked it on level ten. Want us to play it again?" Reggie asks. I'm seriously not in the mood right now. I need to find Flynn and Julie. I unplug Luke as well. "I really don't think she does." Luke whispers to him.
"No." He agrees, and they both put down their guitars. "We've actually been waiting for you to get home. Ok, so, we have some pretty major news to tell you. We had a band meeting earlier and...we wanna invite you to join Sunset Curve. And no, you're not dreaming." Luke says.
"Oh." I say, sadly. I really wish I could answer them right now, but until I know where I stand with Julie and Flynn, I can't accept his offer just like that. "Oh? She said oh. Ok, that's what you say when you get socks for your birthday, not when you're invited to join the most epic band ever."
"Sorry, but I need clear things up with Flynn and Julie." I say. "Cool, cool. So you wanna join our band?" Luke asks again. I scoff. Seriously? "I'm gonna let you figure that one out by yourself." I snap, walking towards the door.
"Oh come on. We need you and you need us because you need music. Look, we found this poem that you wrote and Reggie and I added a melody to it, and it sounds really awesome." Luke says. I turn around to face them, eyes wide. "Where did you get that?" I ask.
When I stopped writing music I started writing poems. I keep them next to my song journal key in my nightstand. "Definitely not in you night stand." Luke says, pushing Reggie between us. "Yeah, we can do that now!" Reggie says. I get past him and start chasing Luke.
"Seriously? No you can't! That's private! Ever heard of boundaries? You can't just go around snooping through my stuff, ok? I told you both not to go through my songs! Why would I want you to go through my personal stuff?" I snap.
I chase Luke around the piano for a little bit before stopping, knowing I'm not gonna catch him. "Give it back." I say. Luke kneels on the piano bench, leaning over it. "No, ok, you need to realize how insanely talented you are. Ok? Listen to this." He says, placing the paper in between us.
"If somebody hurts you..." I go to snatch it, but he pulls it back. "If somebody hurts you, I'm gonna get hurt too." He reads. He then starts to sing a little. "And my life, my life would be real low, zero, flying solo." "Oh oh!" Reggie chimes in.
I sigh and back up, readjusting the beanie on my head before placing my hands on my hips. "It's a killer melody." Luke says. "I wrote that about Flynn and Julie when they were helping me this past year. I stopped writing music so whenever I needed an outlet I'd add a poem to the drawer."
I shake my head and turn towards the door. "I gotta go." I say. "Hey, what about the band?" Luke calls when I open the door. I roll my eyes and turn around. "I almost forget-" Luke grins. "Stay out of my poems and journals!" I say, closing the door. I have to find Flynn and Julie.
