"Hello, I am Shuichi Saihara; I am the apprentice of my uncle Kai Saihara.." Shuichi introduced himself, He had been assigned to a new case. This case was particularly odd because the main suspect was around his age. The victim of this case was Rantaro Amami, another boy around Shuichi's age... He was baffled at the fact that these boys had to go through hell and back at only the age of 16 , and he wished he was there to help Rantaro before he died; he was determined to atleast bring Rantaro justice by finding his murder.
"Oh, hello Shuichi! I've actually heard of you from your uncle, anyway I think you already know who the victim of this case is so I will not be explaining that.. but all of what we know about his tragic murder is in the case file on the desk." The older man explained.
Shuichi walked over to the desk with the case file, he delicately flipped through the pages making sure not to ruin or crumple any evidence. His face turned from a carfree smile to a horrified frown. The way that Amami was killed was horrible, he died from trauma to the head. but he still had many cuts and bruises on his body, most likely from a knife or another sharp object. "T-this is..." Saihara couldn't even finish his sentence without getting the urge to vomit. Bright pink blood was all that invaded his mind, the blood of the 16 year old boy Rantaro Amami.
"I know it's horrible, I couldn't even stand to look at it for more than a minute." The man explained. Shuichi couldn't help but agree, what happned to Rantaro was beyond horrid--It was down right traumatic. "Rantaro was part of a wealthy and high class family too, so the murderer would probably recieve the death penalty." Shuichi agreed on the fact of a death penalty for the son of a bitch who caused this, but at the same time he would feel guilty if they wrongly accused someone. What would happen if the person that they point fingers at actually isn't the blackned.
"Ah- I don't think I introduced myself, my name is Haruta Takahashi. It's a pleasure working with you detective Saihara!" He exclaimed making Saihara smile. All Shuichi wanted to do was get his mind off of Rantaro for just a second. The title detective made Saihara feel high and mighty, he had no idea why; he was usually an akward person, always getting flustered over the littlest things but when people call him detective it makes him gain his composure. "Um, nice to meet you, Mr. Takashi.." He akwardly played with his hands, a nervous habit of his. It was either that or him biting the inside of his cheek. "Just call me Haruta, I don't want my friends nephew to think of me as intimidating." Haruta gave out a dry chuckle as he said that, making Shuichi less tense and insecure about his response. "I-I'm sorry, I'm just bad at social situations.." Shuichi explained, akwardly.
"I figured, there's nothing wrong with having a bit of anxiety so you shouldn't be sorry." Haruta said as nonchalantly as he could. In reality he couldn't help but feel sorry for Saihara--a young person like him upholding all of this stress with working as a detective, he really has no time to just be a kid. "I think I have more that just 'a little bit' of anxiety, I already know I'm creepy; a lot of people tell me at school." Shuichi sighed, making Haruta frown. It was true that Shuichi wasn't someone to start a conversation, but that doesen't mean that he is creepy or peculiar. He's just a kid with a little more trouble talking to others. "You're not creepy, atleast not to me." This made Shuichi crack a slight smile, atleast someone accepts him.
"Anyway back to the case," Haruta declared "as you know we have one suspect. The suspects name is Kokichi Ouma, and if I'm being quite honest I do not believe that he is the murderer." He explained. "Why don't you think that he is the one that's guilty?" Saihara asked, genuinley intrigued.
"Well, the reason that they suspect Ouma in the first place is because he was Amami's best friend and is known to cause mischief." He put his finger up to fix his glasses. "That's the only reason?" Saihara was perplexed, how could someone base their suspicions by just that. That was just unfair to Ouma.. "Basically, one of Amami's aquaintances--Kirumi said she saw a lock of purple hair right before she discovered the body." He clarified, it made sense now why they would suspect him since Ouma's most notable feature is his dark purple hair. "Does anyone else in the school have purple hair?" Saihara asked, going full detective mode. The person that was found guilty was going to be on death row so he couldn't afford to get anything wrong. "Actually, yes. His name is Kaito Momota but he claims that he was out on a date with his girlfriend Maki before he found out about the murder." Haruta sighed, explaining everything he knew to Shuichi. "Did you confirm his aliby?" Shuichi asks, to which Haruta nods.
Stumped, Shuichi lazily slumped onto his chair. He was convinced that Ouma wasn't the murderer; no idea why or how, he has never met Ouma before but his name. Kokichi Ouma, in his head it didn't sound like someone who would commit this heinous crime. "Uh, have you thought of the possibility of the murderer being outside of the school?" He asked desperate to atleast have other suspects beside Ouma. "Yeah... we have that as a possibility, but I have no idea where we would even start." Haruta looked at Shuichi giving him a defeated look, but Shuichi wasn't going to give up just yet. "We can start by going through all of the people Rantaro talked to, inside and outside of school." Saihara suggested, Haruta writing down notes in the process. "Okay, I'll suggest that to my boss." He said, but Shuichi wanted something more...
"Can I meet the suspect?"
