Kokichi's emotions~

It was a fairly gloomy day, not like the one's Kokichi rememberered when he was with his parents. In his old neighborhood days like this were very common; there would even be thunder on days like this. He practically lived in the slums, it was very hard to get money, and he had to work by the age of eight. It wasn't anything major, he would usually work as a custodian for local stores and barbor shops. There was one point where he remembered getting touched by one of the older men that he worked for.

He didn't know that this was a bad thing, he was only eight; When his mother found out, well, let's just say things weren't pretty. His memory get's fuzzy around this time, but he remembered his mom slapping that man very hard, leaving a red hand mark on his face. He remembered his mother telling him that if anyone touched him like that again to knock them on there ass until they couldn't get up. That's one of the things that stuck with him throughout all of these years.

It wasn't enough to say that he loved his mother, he held a massive adulation for his mom; giving her the respect that she deserved. After his dad had left them alone, his mom would be there for him every step of the way. She didn't care who or what he liked, she didn't care what grades he got in school--she just loved him as a whole. Henceforth, that's why Kokichi wanted to be by his mother's side forever.

Forever he thought, but of course that was only his foolish fantasy. his mother had died from pancreatic cancer. She didn't even know she had it until it was too late and had spread too much. She did smoke, but Kokichi never thought she did it enough to cause her to have cancer.

He distincly remembered being brought to his grandmothers house after that incident, they wanted to take him to his dad's---but he never wanted to see that asshole ever again. So, now he sweared to never feel any kind of devotion towards any human being; but he was failing miserably.

Shuichi Saihara, the idiot detective that made his heart beat faster and faster each time his name was mentioned. He hadn't even known him for that long, but something about that determined look in his eyes made Kokichi admire him even more along with his voice. Kokichi had always been a sucker for sweet voices, and coincidentally Shuichi had that sweet cinnamon voice that he loved.

He sighed while he was under his checkered blanket. He had planned to go to sleep but the stupid detective kept on popping up in his mind. Bored, he decided to roll around his bed, dragging the blanket with him. He tried to get him out of his mind, but he obviously couldn't.

He imagined what it would be like to get closer to him. Would they be able to cuddle with each other? Would he be able to kiss him? And yes, he wasn't afraid to admit that he liked Shuichi. Who would of known that he was such a hopeless romantic?

This was all so frustrating for him! He hadn't felt like this much of a mess since his mom died. He needed to get his mind off of him. So, he decided to go to his kitchen and try to eat away his concerns. He leisurely made his way towards his grey fridge, almost tripping on his way there. He opened the fridge and got some panta and yogurt. A weird combo but it was the only thing that was really there. He opened the yogurt and sat down on the couch.

His mind wandered weird places as he was eating, like what it would be like to eat dinner with Shuichi, or what if hypothetically him and Shuichi adopt four cats and three dogs. What if him and Shuichi got married and adopted children together, although Kokichi could be like a child at times it may be too much for Shuichi. He giggled at the thought, adopting children with him would be nice--or maybe even just living with him.

Even so, Kokichi was painfully aware that these fantasy's would never become a reality. They barely knew each other, first off, and secondly he was a suspect for the murder case he was assigned to. Finally to top it all of---Shuichi would never like a liar like him anyway, but he couldn't help but have these constant thoughts, it was almost like his comfort thought.

It didn't matter how horrible Kokichi was feeling, all he had to do was think about Shuichi then kaboom! He was in a better mood. He just wished that he knew about Shuichi sooner. He would have a coping mechanism and maybe not have tried to jump off a fucking roof, but atleast he had him for now.

Suddenly, Kokichi heard his phone ring. He jumped from the harsh vibrations that came from his phone, but then he saw who was calling him. On his screen was: Detective Saihara. He quickly answered as he was vigorously blushing.

"U-um, hey Ouma...." His fragile voice soothed Kokichi to the extreme that he could just fall asleep from it. "Oh hey! It's my favorite detective..." He tried to play it cool, and thanks to his years of lying it was fairly easy. "Geez, I'm not even a full fledged detective yet..you're overestimating me." He heard Shuichi sigh from the other side of the phone. This broke his heart, he wanted nothing more than for the detective to be happy. "Well, then I bet you're going to be an amazing detective one day!" He giggled, which caused a quiet but cute laugh from Shuichi. Kokichi loved that laugh and he wanted to hear more, but it soon came to an end. "So~ why'd you call? Did you miss me or something?" He snickered, he expected Shuichi to laugh with him but instead it was just silent.

Maybe he said something wrong, or maybe Shuichi's phone just froze, he prayed that it was the second option. "If I'm being honest," Shuichi abruptly paused, "I called you because...I missed hearing your voice.." He said quietly.

Ouma felt like his heart had just jumped out of his chest..
