Recommended Music ~Tones and I - Dance Monkey

THE low timbre of R'n'B music drifted out through the speakers of the taxi I sat in as I made my way back home. Nothing else felt better than the fact that I was finally out and free from the white confined walls I was stuck in for six months. Anorexia is something that I suffer from, but six months receiving treatments after starving myself for weeks didn't really tell on me as much as I wanted it to considering that I was placed on a continuous dosage of olanzapine. I expected to see my fat thighs a little bit slimmer and my stomach fat entirely gone but instead, all I got was even fatter thighs and tummy. Crap

I understand that I might have created an image of someone who is fat in your head, but that's where you're wrong. I'm this kind of person you'd call "thick", not "slim thick", just "thick" which to me is just ugly. This mentality of mine resulted in me trying to reduce my body weight by starving myself and over-exercising my body which turned out really bad considering the fact that I ended up in the hospital.

Daniel, my older brother had offered to pick me up from the airport after my discharge from the hospital but I lied, telling him I wasn't arriving today, I needed some time alone for a while and also, the extra work could help me burn out some fat. Hopefully

The taxi halted to a stop, breaking me out of my thoughts. Paying up, I grabbed my luggage and stepped out, my gaze on the building in front of me. Daniel's house. Now you're probably wondering about my parents, I do have them, just that they're too busy with their company back in New York, although they always ensure to credit I and Daniel's accounts every two weeks. How fantastic.

My index finger rested on the doorbell for a while before I eventually urged myself to ring it. I heard the chime echo through the windows and I waited patiently for about a minute or two without getting any answer. Reaching for it again, I rang it twice this time and sighed in relief when the doornob turned. Anxiety clogged in my throat as the door pulled open, leaving me staring at a tall, grey eyed boy. His dark brows were pulled into a deep scowl as his calculating eyes analyzed me for a while. My thoughts jumbled. Was I at the wrong house? Who was this guy?

"Can I help you?" he asked, eyeing my luggage discreetly.

"I'm not sure if I'm at the right house" I started, watching as his brows raised a bit "But does a Daniel Monroe live here?"

"Yes" he answered slowly "And you're?"

"Caitlyn, his sister" I replied, feeling my head prod. I didn't like the way he analyzed my looks. What if he noticed all my fat?

"Oh" he muttered with uncertainty before pulling the door wider for me. I helped myself along with the luggage into the house as he shut the door behind me.

"I thought you weren't arriving today" he said and I cast him a glance. Did he know about my reason for being overseas?

"Yeah" I trailed off "Who are you?"

"Bradley, Daniel's coursemate" he answered. They both attend the same college, Right

"Well then, where's Daniel?" I asked

"Basketball practice would have postponed it if he knew you were arriving today" he replied, folding his arms and leaning against the wall. I shifted weight from my left to my right foot awkwardly.

"What time is he gonna get back?"

"Half an hour from now" he replied "Let me show you to your room"

He led me up the stairs and stopped at a door "If you need anything, my room is just opposite yours"

I frowned "You live here?"

His reply was a curt nod before he hurriedly left the room and shut the door, leaving me to unpack. Talk about awkward.

THE doorbell chimed and I heard Bradley mutter something like 'That'd be Daniel' before making his way over to the door. I stood from where I was sitting in the living room as Bradley pulled the door open. Daniel stepped in, clad in a tank top and shorts, his hair was wet and slicked to the back showing that he just took a shower. He was slightly taller and his shoulders were broader and more muscular. He and Bradley did a bro handshake thingy before his eyes swept to me.

His brows raised "Cee!" he exclaimed before rushing over and pulling me into his chest, his body was slightly cold probably from his cold shower but I didn't mind as I hugged him tighter. I felt tears well up in my eyes as he kissed my hair.

"Wait a minute" he pulled away and I laughed at the accusing look on his face "You told me you weren't arriving today"

"Surprise" I replied chuckling

He pulled me into his chest again "God I've missed you"

"Yeah, yeah" I rolled my eyes, pulling away from his hold.

"You've met Bradley" he said, giving a small smile.

"Yeah, kinda" I replied

"Kinda?" he looked amused

I shrugged and he rolled his eyes before saying "Okay, let me do the proper introduction then. Brad, meet my sister Caitlyn and Caitlyn, meet my buddy Brad"

I smiled at him and he gave a nod "Nice to meet you, Caitlyn"

"My pleasure" I replied, frowning a bit. Couldnt he at least manage a smile?

"I'm heading out" he said to Daniel before jogging up the stair and slamming the door to his room shut. I pursed my lips, who the hell did he think he was?
