Daniel and I hadn't spoken since our last argument considering how busy he has been juggling school work with basketball. He didn't seem like he was in the mood to start up any conversation with me and neither was I which made eating breakfast that Saturday morning very awkward.
The air around us was tense and Bradley could definitely tell that something was wrong, but he didn't bother to pry with his gaze fixated on his phone as he chowed down his breakfast of bacon and eggs. I had only eaten a few bites from my food when my phone suddenly rang, 'Jay' bouncing on the caller ID.
Excited, I grabbed the phone and excused myself. Daniel didn't look at me.
"Hey," I said
"Baby, are you free tonight?" he asked
"I think so" I answered thoughtfully "Why?"
"It's just...." he sounded nervous "There's a party and I was just wondering if you'd like to come"
"What party?" I asked biting on my fingernails.
"Regular high school ones" he replied lazily. I suddenly had a bad feeling about it, going to a high school party wasn't that much of a problem for me but going to one where all my past high school mates know about my disorder was a 'no no'. But I really couldn't refuse Jay.
" I don't know, Jay" I mumbled
"Aw c'mon, Cait" he whined "I'd be there with you, wouldn't I?"
"Yeah but then you'd want to go chill with your friends"
"I won't" came his answer and I had a feeling that he was lying but I pushed it away.
"Alright fine, what time is it?"
"I fucking love you, Cait!" he exclaimed and I laughed a bit "It's by 6, I'll pick you up"
"Okay" I hung up

"Going somewhere?" Daniel asked, his eyes trailing over my outfit. I was wearing an oversized tee, long enough to reach my thighs, making it seem like a dress. I strapped my Gucci fanny pack around my waist to give style to it and complimented everything with a pair of heels.
I hadn't done much to my hair though, just straightened it and dusted on little makeup. I looked okay.
"Pretty much" was my reply
"Where?" he asked again.
"A party" I mumbled in reply as I texted Jay that I was ready. His reply was instant.
'I'll be there in five'
I tucked my phone into my fanny pack and met Daniel's eyes. He looked hesitant like he was about to tell me not to go and I gave him a daring look.
"What, dad ?" I mocked "I shouldn't go to a party too?"
He shot me an unamused look "Just be careful. Who are you going with?"
"Jay"
His brows raised "I thought you guys broke up or something"
I gave him a look and he raised his hands in surrender.
'I'm outside' came Jay's text.
"Alright, bye" I turned to Daniel and waved, stopping when I also noticed Bradley staring at me from the kitchen. I smiled a bit and he returned it, leaving me in awe. Did he just?
Smiling to myself, I helped myself out the door and into Jay's Ferrari. He leaned in and pressed a kiss to my forehead, cheeks then lips.
"You look amazing" he whispered
"You too," I said and meant it. He had the ability to pull off anything and so he dressed in a grey t-shirt and black jeans did make him look amazing.
"Mhm" he pulled away reluctantly and drove off, one hand on the steering wheel and one hand in mine.

What do you guys think would happen at the party?
