Drew's POV
I see her. She's standing right across the street from me. The perfect girl. She stands on the corner, waiting for the bus and listening to music on her sleek iPhone 5. I take her all in. She wears flare jeans, a white long sleeve shirt, with a purple scarf tied around her neck, and brown boots. She sticks the iPhone in her back pocket and pulls a book out of her bag, flipping through the pages and chewing on her thumbnail as she starts to read the worn pages of Romeo and Juliet. She's smart and pretty. I inhale cold air and pull my hoodie closer around my body. I feel like I should go over to her and at least introduce myself, but when I am about to step off of the curb the bus pulls in front of her and she looks up at the bus driver and flashes a dazzling smile at him, as she gets into the bus.
I sigh looking after the bus and knowing I will never see her again. Wes touches my shoulder as if to wake me up from a bad dream, and I follow him to the car, and climb into it's warmth letting it envelope me and cover me completely.
Jaiden's POV
I see a glimpse of a blond boy with a hoodie on and I want to leap from my spot on the bus, when I realize that it is Drew Chadwick of Emblem Three. I follow him until I see Wesley come and touch his shoulder, and they get into a car together and drive away with Keaton in the backseat. I sigh and turn up my music a little louder to avoid hearing the couple making out in the seat in front of me. I go back to my book and feel the bus rumble down the street as I lose myself in a world of Romeo and Juliet. If only love were truly like this, then everyone would want to be apart of it and revel in it forever.
Drew's POV- One week later
I can't get that girl out of my head. It has been a week and I am back at the same bus stop, hoping she will be here today. I tilt my head to the side, and look back and forth. Right and left. I finally see her in a teal and white sundress, with white high heels on, her brunette bangs in front of her eyes, the rest of her hair in a bun, a white cream scarf tied loosely around her neck, and her thumbs texting at rapid fire on her sleek white iPhone. I stand up so she can sit on the one person bench, and when she looks up to thank the person who thanked her, she stops and I see her beautiful blue eyes widen at the sight of me. She knows me. Of course. I can't have a normal relationship. I have to have a super pop star one. I look back at the ground until I hear her voice.
"Drew Chadwick, right?"
"Yeah. That's me. I just saw you here last week and I couldn't stop thinking about you and I was hoping to find you here. Now, that I found you I don't know what to say and I am rambling right?" I chuckle uneasily and rub the palm of my hand across the back of my neck.
"It's okay. I actually have to take the bus to a Youth Outreach Program that I volunteer for. I am sure they would love to see Drew Chadwick. If you don't have anything going on today. I mean, you don't have to go I just. I don't know. I feel really dumb right now."
"I would love to go. I can drive you down there if you want."
"Oh, that would be great. My prius is in the shop so I have been taking the bus all week."
"Well, let's go then," I face the opposite side of the street, and look back at her over my shoulder.
She follows me across the street and I unlock the car quickly opening her door before getting in on the driver's side.
Jaiden's POV
I feel my hands start to sweat at the thought of being in the same car as Drew. I follow him quickly across the street, and when he opens the door for me it takes everything I have to not want to scream. I climb into the car, putting my purse down by my feet, and fiddling nervously with my phone. I type out a quick text to my boyfriend Cameron and tell him that I got a ride, and I would be there in a bit. When Drew told me that he couldn't stop thinking about me, my heart leapt into my throat. How could I tell a boy who everybody knows and who I adore and barely know that I had a boyfriend. I sighed as he started the car, and pulled out of the small parking lot.
"So, I don't think I ever got your name," he said.
"It's Jaiden. I have something to tell you Drew."
"What is it?"
"Um, well, I sorta have a boyfriend."
Drew's POV
My heart dropped. I choked back words that I knew I would regret. I kept my eyes on the road, and my hands tightened on the steering wheel. She had a boyfriend. Why did she have to have a boyfriend? At the stoplight, I laid my head on the steering wheel and I could hear her typing on her phone. I look up and I drive her to the place.
"I can't go with you. I have to run some errands that I forgot about."
"Okay. I guess I will see you around. Here's my phone number if you ever want to text me or whatever," I hear her high heels click on the ground as she gets out of the car and walks to the center.
Jaiden's POV
I felt the pit of my stomach start to shift when I see Cameron in front of the Youth Center. I smile at him and he waves at me as I get closer. His brown hair swishes in front of his grey charcoal eyes as the cold, bitter air blows across his face. I feel my phone vibrate in my hand and I look down to see a new text from an unknown number register on my phone. I know immediately that it is Drew and I feel sick to my stomach. I want to tell him that I want him to come back and we can go get coffee but instead I put my phone in my bag and go up to hug Cameron.
"Hey. Who gave you a ride?" he asks, his voice smooth and relaxed.
"Kiara gave me a ride here. She had to go back to her house for her mom's birthday party though," I easily lie.
We walk inside and I see Adam the boy I am tutoring and he stands up and takes in my dress and heels.
"Pretty fancy for just coming to meet me for tutoring," he teased as I sat down across from him and get out my iPad.
"I have to go somewhere after this. I have to go to a friend's house for a party. How has class been going for you? Did your English teacher like that paper you wrote?" I scroll down the list of kids I had on my tutoring list and I knew I would be here for most of my day.
My phone started vibrating again, and I knew that it had to be Drew.
"I need to take this outside real quick. I will be right back," I walk past Cameron and the girl he is tutoring and out of the center.
"Hello?" I say.
"Hey. It's Drew. I'm sorry I know you are probably really busy right now, but I just had to hear your voice again, Jaiden. I told you I couldn't stop thinking about you."
"I know. I should've told you about Cameron sooner. I am sorry, but we just met and I didn't think that I would not be able to stop thinking about you," I say, pacing across the hall.
"Do you want to go get coffee sometime? I just want to see you again."
"I would love to go with you and have coffee. Just tell me when."
"Okay. I'll text you times I will be in town. Me and the guys are going to audition in the next week for X Factor, but I will let you know when I will be in town."
"Okay. That sounds good, Drew."
"I'll talk to you later then, Jaiden."
I close my phone and lean against the wall, only knowing one thing. I have to audition for X Factor.
