"So then he tells me that I have to be a politician and whatnot so I left the table. What irritates me the most is the fact that he still refuses to hear me out and why I want to do acting." I expressed to my group of friends as I knew I would get the best advice.

"Yeah friend, I agree with you. I think that he must listen to your reasoning because you don't  want to have this conflict for the rest of your lives just because you are not communicating your views. You don't want to lose your dad over something so petty, trust me."said Lethu.

She had lost contact with her dad at the beginning of high school because her father didn't like her then boyfriend, but she was convinced that she was in love. Turns out her dad was right and now he doesn't talk to her anymore. The worse thing is that Tshepo, her ex boyfriend, left her at 3 months pregnant. She is struggling to take care of her baby and her granny now. She is the strongest and wisest out of us all and I trust her judgment.

"So I think you should approach him like the adults you both are are and tell him why you have decided on what you did. That's the only way this all will be resolved."she continued.

The rest of the group agreed and so did I. So it was decided. I am going to put on my adult pants and approach this problem head on, but first I have school to deal with. So I'll talk to him at a later time.

Nathan's POV

The school day had been okay for the most part, except for the looks I kept on getting when in the school quad.

I am currently making my way to the last subject of the day, Afrikaans. I am not looking forward to this class one bit. Not only do I not understand a word, but it sounds too complicated to for my liking.

Once I had made it to the class I made my way to my desk and as I was going to sleep this subject off, I smelt the most amazing scent ever. This smell became stronger and stronger until I realised it came from the girl who sat next to me. Annika, I think her name was. She sat down and I breathed in the amazing smell.

Yesterday I hadn't given her a second look but now that I actually have a chance to, I saw how breathtakingly beautiful she actually is. She has beautiful glowing melanin skin that looks so soft and clear. She has the most beautiful eyes that I wouldn't mind getting lost in all day. Her plump lips and button nose make her even more angelic. She has a  beautiful afro that adds to her overall beauty. She is so beautiful.

She is busy unpacking her books and stationary when she ever so slightly brushes her elbow against my arm. She leaves my arm tingling from the contact.

"Goeie Môre klas!" The teacher walks in and I couldn't care any less. Instead I busy myself on my phone. She continues with the rest of the class until I feel sudden tapping on my leg. I assume she is not doing it on purpose so I ignore it. This tapping doesn't stop so I bring my attention to her to find out why she is tapping.

"What do you want!?" That came out meaner than intended as I see a flicker of hurt evident on her face. She quickly changes her expression and points to the teacher.

"Dankie Annika. Now Mr Luke I assume there is something much more interesting on your phone hense you not paying attention to my lesson" Mrs Van Der Merwe continues." Now would you like to explain to the class why you are not paying attention" she asks me a question but it sounds more like a statement. ( Thank you)

"No ma'am" I answer.

"Stand up when you talk to me sir," she says obviously getting annoyed. "In case you didn't understand, it wasn't a request. Why were you not paying attention to my lesson?"

Everyone's eyes are now on me, this is exactly what I was trying to avoid. I was trying to avoid this kind of attention, after all I don't want what happened last year to repeat itself. It can't. I have to keep a low profile or there is going to be trouble, big trouble.

"I don't understand Afrikaans." I answer back.
