Nathan's POV
Today was Saturday and after that troublesome Afrikaans lesson yesterday, I now had to attend Afrikaans extra classes at the school in the afternoon. That was not how I was planning on spending my day, but what ever goes according plan nowadays.
After finally getting out of bed and having had breakfast I went back upstairs to my room. It still amazes me how my mother had afforded to buy this enormous house, in this expensive neighborhood. Back home, we lived in a house the size of my now bedroom. It was crazy. Mother had told me earlier today that she was going out for the day, that she had some important things to handle and that she would be back in the late afternoon.
Luckily she was coming home at the same time I would have to leave for the extra classes. The rest of the day I stayed home looking after her. She was better than most days today and it made me so happy to see her getting well, even though she was still bad. She had a coughing fit and it didn't sound pleasant. She is so strong to be going through this.
All I could do now was give her her water and medicines as well as her sleeping shot. I hated having to inject her to sleep, but it was what's best for her. She couldn't handle the coughs and I can't imagine the pain she is going through.
After giving her the shot I sat at the table and just watched her sleep. She looked so peaceful. If there was anything I could do to help keep her that peaceful while she was awake, I would do it in a heartbeat.
As I was sitting at the table I hear a knocking on the door. It was my mom.
"Why didn't you just open the door yourself?
You live here?"
"I forgot my keys." My mother responded.
"Forgot your keys, how's that even possible? How would you have got in if I decided to leave earlier?" I questioned trying to stall.
"Hey! Enough with the chit-chat" she stated, "you need to get to school already."

Walking to school in the afternoon on a Saturday with a huge backpack and did I forget to mention FULL UNIFORM was already weird enough so I was in a hurry to get there already. I busied my self on my phone and continued the walk.
"Babe!" A familiar voice called. A voice that I will not forget anytime soon. Annika's voice. I didn't know she had a boyfriend.
So what if she has a boyfriend. Its non of you business she can do wha-
"Hey Babe!"she linked her arm with mine and kissed me on the cheek. Something is definitely wrong. We haven't even had a proper conversation yet, but she was already calling me babe.
"Babe?, what are you talking about?" I asked.
She was winking her eye rapidly, and I could immediately sense that something was wrong. "Babe where are you off to?" She said loudly as if she wanted to be heard.
"Ummm, I was on my way to school right now. Didn't know I would bump into you." I said playing along.
Annika's POV
Once the stranger had stopped following me around, I let out a relieved breath.
"Thank you so much for helping me just now." I thanked Nathan." You really saved me!"
"Wait, what happened, why did you call me babe, and kiss me on my cheek. Not that I minded, but why did you all of a sudden kiss me?" he added and slapped his forehead.
Not that I minded, that was funny.
" Oh this weirdo wouldn't stop following and being creepy so I ran over here trying" I summarized it, trying to sound cool. "And thank you alot I dont know what I would've done if you weren't here."
"Don't worry about it, it was nothing. I'm just glad you are ok." He answered.
"I feel like I should thank you though. Would you like me to buy you a treat as a token of my appreciation?" I really wanted to do this for him.
"No really, it's cool. Anyways I really need to get to school. I'm running late." He explained looking at his arm, and that's when I noticed our arm were still linked.
Awkward...
I quickly let go and he made his way to the school. "See I'll you around Annika "he said as I waved goodbye.
Yeah, see you around Nathan.
