Basil slammed the door shut behind him as he entered his bedroom, his anger quickly turning to hurt as his body felt weak from using magic without practice. He kicked the side of his bed before collapsing onto it burying his face in one of his pillows starting to sob not caring if anyone heard him. They deserve to know how much they had hurt him from hiding all of this. Basil didn't realize he was falling asleep until he woke up in that sprawling nightmarish forest with a voice calling out to him louder than ever. Just as he felt he was getting close he felt himself wake up.

It took him time to realize someone was with him, stroking their fingers through his hair lovingly. It felt so good Basil almost started to fall asleep again, not bothering to check who it was till they started humming softly. It was something his mother used to sing to him when he was little and had nightmares. It wasn't his mother though, turning his head slightly, Kelkian had his hair tied up in a ponytail with his eyes closes humming for him. His fingers carding through Basil's hair without much thought. Basil couldn't help but stare. Kelkian was really handsome, sharp cheekbones, unblemished pale skin, and long hair. He didn't realize Kelkian had stopped singing and was now looking at him with a smirk on his face.

"Good morning sleeping beauty..." He said cupping Basil's cheek as he inched closer. As their lips were about to connect his phone started ringing. Basil snapped out of his daze and sat up pulling his phone out of his pocket. He answered it face burning red.

"Hello...?" Basil asked clearing his throat from coming out tight.

"Basil? Hey it's Gram. I just wanted to check on you and make sure you were okay." He asked somewhat nervously, clearly worried about him. It was heartwarming and so sweet of him. Before Basil could reply Kelkian frowned glaring at his cell phone.

"Who is it Basil? It had better not be that Gram guy..." Kelkian growled jealousy written across his face. Basil rolled his yes ready to tell him to shut up when Gram responded.

"Basil? Who was that?" Gram asked sounding more worried and sounding jealous himself now.

"Uh... don't worry about that... Sorry Gram, I'm kind of dealing with a lot tonight. My parents sprung some big news on me, and I need time to adjust... I'll pick you up in the morning at the coffee shop in the morning okay?" Basil said hopeful of getting him off the phone.

"Sure. I'll see you tomorrow Basil. Goodnight." He replied sounding a little glum. Basil sighed softly.

"Goodnight Gram... I hope I'm in your dreams." He says sweetly biting his lip. This seems to cheer Gram up significantly.

"So do I... bye Basil" They both hang up and Basil sighed much more heavily this time rubbing his forehead as Kelkian slides his arms around his waist resting his chin on his shoulder.

"Why must you get that poor shackled's hopes up?" He pouts making Basil stand up pulling out of his arms.

"I'm not getting his hopes up Kelk... I just... I'm not ready to let go of my shackled lifestyle. Until then I belong to no one. Could you please go get me some of dinner, so I don't have to face them? I can't be mad at you... because none of this is your fault. But I'm still upset with my family. I'm going to take a quick shower to calm down for the night." Basil heads into the bathroom starting the shower.

"Can I join you, love?" Kelkian asks from the doorway and Basil goes bright red in the face surprised by the request.

"No... I..." He gets flustered trying to control himself. "I think it's best if I shower alone." Basil closes the door on Kelkian's pouting face. He could hear him swear about some thick headed shackled as he left the bedroom. Basil locked the bathroom door and stripped before slipping into the shower. This was all still so much to process, not only was he engaged but he also was now caught between to boys?! All Basil wanted was an easy senior year, but this was shaping up to be a nightmare. Washing away his worried Basil dries off and wraps himself in a towel before entering his bedroom.
