Basil and the Slumbering Emerald

Spring Break

It takes a week of staying with Mattias and avoiding everything that Kelkian and Mattias convince him to go home and talk it out with Petril. Reluctantly Basil lets them teleport to Petril's in the midst of Joe and Petril having dinner. Basil refuses to look at Petril, tears threatening to spill already and Petril sighs heavily. "I'm sorry Basil. I know you loved Gram very much but if he was going to stay he would have had to accept the fact that secrets are a part of who we are as unbound. Shackled are better off and safer without knowing. I'm not trying to hurt you, I'm trying to save you from a worse heartbreak of when Gram has his memories removed and he doesn't even recognize you." Petril explains and Basil closes his eyes sobbing softly.

"I just wanted him so much Petril. What if I had married him?! Would I ever have been able to tell him or did you just let me get myself hurt for nothing?!" Basil snaps and Petril kisses his forehead.

"Had he waited for marriage, as a legally bound couple he would be within statutes to know. You weren't loving him for nothing, we just weren't prepared for this to happen the way it did little viper. I'm sorry. I know how much he meant to you." Petril sighs and Basil cries into Petril's shoulder.

"I miss him so much. I feel like I'm missing a part of my heart. It hurts so much..." Basil explains and Petril nods soothing him as best he can. Fror the first time in a week Basil goes to bed in his own bed. After Petril puts Basil to sleep, Joe pulls him aside.

"So I was thinking, we should go on vacation for spring break, take Basil and the other two with us and get him to celebrate like a normal teenager. He needs to know Gram isn't the only man out there that can fill the hole in his heart." Joe reasons and Petril gives a weary look of uncertainty.

"A vacation sounds nice but Basil isn't a normal teen Joe. He never was normal, no matter how much he pretends he was. His heart means everything to him. I don't think he can just replace Gram that easily and it isn't just about sex because he has Kelkian and Mattias for that." Petril explains and Joe shrugs.

"Regardless it is still a vacation to a warm and sunny place with plenty of hot guys. You never know what Basil might find. It is at least worth a shot Petril. He needs to move on." Joe says honestly and Petril sighs heavily.

"Alright. We can tell them tomorrow and we can work out travel plans tonight. We can use magic transportation, it's cheaper and We could find an unbound resort so we can still use magic. This way Basil finds someone who can visit him and know his secrets. " Petril suggests and Joe beams nodding.

"Oh come on babe, think about it... You, me..." His voice a growl in his husband's ear. "Some tight bulging speedos, maybe even a nude beach... and all the privacy we could want." He nibbles Petril's ear making him bite his lip.

"Travel plans can wait a half hour... can't they?" Petril grins and pushes Joe into their soundproof room locking the door.

The next morning everyone is called to a family meeting of sorts. Petril is doing his damnedest to hide a fresh set of bruises from the night before, "So Joe here suggested we go away for spring break and I have to agree, I think we need to get some time away from here and maybe get a tan. Just get our minds of things. I hope you guys are okay with that because we already booked the rooms last night. All of next week in the sunny Bahamas at a unbound only resort, private rooms, with a nude beach and everything." Petril explains. Everyone looks to Basil who shrugs.

"Why not. I always wanted to go to the Bahamas." Basil says and everyone else agrees. With Basil's permission everyone sets about packing the necessities for a week in the Bahamas.

The rest of the week goes by lightning fast and before they know it they are heading to the nearest long distance teleportation rune circle. They show up in the Bahamas dressed in their summer clothes and soaked in sunscreen in Basil and Mattias's cases. They head to their rooms on the sunny remote resort island. Basil immediately seems in a better mood, his mind taken off Gram and school for a while. Kelkian is immediately in the tiniest speedo and rushing out to soak up some sun but Basil just goes to the balcony to look out at the scene when Mattias comes up behind him kissing his neck, his beard tickling a little bit. "What's on that beautiful mind of yours handsome?" Mattias asks nuzzling kisses behind his ear making Basil shudder, suddenly realizing it has been too long since he last was intimate with one of his lovers.
