~Steve's Apartment~

Rafael's POV

Steve unlocks at the to his apartment and lets me in first. I smile at him to say 'thanks', I go in.

It was as expected. Everything was so vintage looking.

"You can take my bed, I'll sleep on the couch" Steve tells me while I look around.

"You sure?" I then look at him and watch him walk into the kitchen to take a few tablets.

"Yes, you've been through a lot so rest up"

"Thanks... will you be there when I wake up?" I ask walking closer to him.

"Of course, how else am I supposed to take you to Bucky?"

I nod not knowing what to say, "I'll lend you my shirt, I don't want you to sleep in something uncomfortable"

He walks past me and goes into his room.

"Thank you..." I say softly.

"Here" he gives me a plain white shirt.

"Thank you" I say again, "you can change in my room" he nods once with a smile.

"Thanks"

I lay there in Steve's bed. I couldn't fall asleep, all I could think about is Bucky.

I sigh.

What was he even going to ask me?

I roll over to my left side, then onto my back again before going onto my right side then stomach.

I sigh again.

I move onto my back and stand up to check up on Steve. I didn't want to completely wake him up if he was asleep so I sneak my way over.

I peak my head out from the wall to look in the living room where he was.

He was reading a book.

"Steve?"

He looks up at me, I step out from the shadows.

"Can't sleep?" He asks, I shake my head.

"Me too, I'm trying to see if this book would do the job" he chuckles as he looks down at it.

"Yeah" I chuckle nervously.

"Can.. can you, um... join me?" I shyly say.

"Yeah, of course" he nods. He places his book down on the coffee table and makes his way over.

I lay back in bed with Steve on the left side. Our backs are facing each other to avoid any awkwardness. I suddenly feel a lot better knowing that there is someone there with me.

"Thank you" I say.

"For?"

"Everything"
