Chapter 12

*Danielle's POV* 

I groaned, rubbing the back of my neck. I heard someone pacing behind me, I opened my eyes slowly. Kol came to my side, helping me up. I gave him a small smile in thanks which he smiled in return. I remembered what had happened earlier today, my brothers had desiccated my best friend. I searched the room, scanning everything, there was no sign of them or Klaus. They knew if they were to cross me right now I could beat them. I walked around the house searching for anything, I noticed that a coffin was missing, they must have stole it and put Klaus in it. I clenched my jaw, I stormed out of the mansion and ran to The Boarding House. When I arrived, I pushed the doors open. 

"Damon! Stefan! Get down here right now!" I yelled walking over to the living room. No one answered. It was dead quiet in the house. All of a sudden I heard a whoosh sound. I flinched causing me to stumble, but someone caught me. I look up to see the one and only, youngest Mikaelson brother. "Thanks." I mumble.

"You know, maybe before you go searching for my brother or maybe search for your brothers to kill them, tell someone." Kol explained. I sighed and continued walking around the Boarding House. 

"They aren't home, they must be with Elena." I concluded. "We need to figure out where they have Klaus." I continued pacing back and forth. "Alaric wants to kill Klaus, right? So we just have to make sure that we don't get Klaus killed." I finished still pacing.

"I know he is your best friend, Danielle. But it surely isn't just because of that." Kol stated looking up from the ground.

"You're right, there is another reason. The first reason, he is my best friend, but it's also because he is my-" I started.

"Your sire." Kol finished looking at me with wide eyes as I just nodded. 

"Kol, we need to try and make a deal with my brothers and their gang. We need to get Klaus back." I reasoned still placing.

"I'll call Elijah, they seem to trust him. You should go with him, they are your brothers." He replied pulling his phone out of his pocket. I nodded and waited for Kol and Elijah to finish their conversation, I overheard most of it, Elijah agreed with us and told me to meet him at the Gilbert Household. Once Kol ended the call, I looked at him and slightly smiled before speeding to the Gilbert's. Elijah was already there waiting for me. I walked beside him and up to the door. I knocked quietly to see if anyone would notice, I heard voices inside, so I knew people were inside. Elena opened the door and slowly backed away. I watched the interaction between Matt and Stefan behind her before I eyed her carefully, before she had the nerve to say something.

"Stefan." She whispered. Stefan stopped his conversation with Matt and shifted his attention towards Elijah and I.

"Danielle. Elijah." He replied slowly walk towards us.

"Hello again." Elijah responded while I lifted an eyebrow, I crossed my arms. I was not very happy with my brother.

"All we need is to take that stake away from him." I explained as we sat at the dining room table.

"Once he's been disarmed, the weapon's in my possession, my family will scatter to the ends of the Earth. And Alaric will follow us." Elijah continued looking between Stefan, Elena, and Matt.

"And you'll just.... run?" Stefan asked taking a seat next to Elena.

"We've done it before. Klaus and Rebekah spent the better part of a thousand years evading my father. What's half another century while Elena's able to live out the rest of her natural life?" Elijah concluded.

"We finally stopped him, Elijah." Elena added. "After everything that he's done to us, I can't just let you bring him back."

"I give you my word, Elena. I will not revive Klaus, within yours, nor even within your children's lifetimes." Elijah argued.

"Why should she trust you?" Matt questioned walking behind Elena. "All you've done is screw her over." 

"Believe me, Elijah is deeply ashamed for that, but think about this, the second we both stepped through that door, she could have been dead." I replied stepping closer to the table.

"So, Elena, I leave it to you to make the decision weather to trust me or not." Elijah added looking at her.

"Not! Hello! Did the concussion give you brain damage?!" Damon yelled, I rolled my eyes. "His lunatic siblings will kill you the first chance they get!"

"Kol and Rebekah will honor their terms, I promise." I argued looking at Elena. "As long as you return Klaus' body to us, Elena won't get hurt. So, do we have a deal?"

"No! No, no, no, no. Did I mention, no!" Damon yelled which made Elena turn to Stefan.

"Elena, it's up to you." Stefan mumbled.

"Oh, come on!" Damon shouted slamming his hands into the steering wheel.

'"Why do you want Klaus' body?" She asked.

"He is my best friend and their brother." I replied walking behind the chair Elijah was sitting in. "We remain together." She stared at both of us before fidgeting with her fingers.

"We have a deal."
