the sound of wind through trees.

Another night was spent away from my bed and another aching pain in my heart. I hated the fact the Fred affected me so quickly even though I didn't come here to fall in love. But at the same time, maybe being in love would help me feel better. I woke early on this Saturday morning and practically ran out of the small twin sized bed down to my room. I practically thanked Godric that no one was awake yet and ran up grabbing my quidditch jersey and broom. I got ready as fast as possible seeing as I had to get down to the pitch for warmups soon. I wasn't excited to play Slytherin, to say the least. I knew this would be a bad match just because of how bloody horrible they played. I sighed at the thought of getting hurt today and knew that I'd have to play my best. After throwing my hair up in a braid, I ran down to the great hall,  expecting to see no one at my table yet, which was true. I ate anything I could get down, knowing I'd need it, and drank some pumpkin juice, which made me gag slightly.

"I take it you don't like pumpkin juice?" Cedric said from behind me as I laughed

"It's kinda gross. I've never liked anything pumpkin flavored."

"Well, I'm sorry to hear that, but good luck today. Slytherin matches are pretty brutal, and don't take that lightly." He said before walking away to the Ravenclaw table towards Cho.

I sighed, sitting there, becoming more nervous than I was before. I knew what I needed, and that was Fred. He always calmed me down, and I knew he might not show up for a match that wasn't for his house. But, to my surprise, he came in sitting next to me being the idiot he was.

"Is that my shirt?" I asked him, bursting out laughing

"Sure is! You left it behind this morning, loser, and I think it fits lovely!"

"It's a bit scandalous on you, Frederick. You might get a dress code for showing that much stomach. You also do realize how cold it is outside right?"

"Oh yeah, I know! That's why I have your scarf! You took mine this morning."

"Oh, uh, I'm sorry I didn't realize."

"It's fine. I think yellow suits me better," he said, winking as I chuckled, getting up.

"Well, time for me to go bud! I'll see you there, I guess." I said, ruffling his hair and walking away, shaking my head.

I walked to the pitch, seeing almost everyone from my team going into the locker room. I pushed the door open and sat down, waiting for our game plan to be read. I was silently freaking out as they started to go over the game plan, knowing just how badly this could go. I felt like everything was moving in slow motion, and I began to not feel my hands shaking so badly.

We moved out waiting for our team to be called, and I just needed to picture Fred. Anything to make me feel better in all honesty, I just needed to shake this feeling off. I got on my broom and zoomed out, looking everywhere for free but couldn't see him yet. I turned and eventually saw all my friends from Gryffindor cheering for me, which made me calm down. I waved to them, smiling a bit, and hovered waiting for the whistle. Something still felt off as I waited, and I knew this wouldn't end well. I remembered what I needed to do, and that was to ignore Malfoy as best as I could. He'd often lead people into traps so he could get the snitch. I heard the whistle blow and started flying around looking for it as carefully as I could. I didn't feel like taking a bulger to any body part today. The match dragged for a bit till the snitch was in sight, I followed it, unsure if Malfoy had seen. I raced after it seeing him on the other side, far enough away to where I could potentially get it. I could hear Fred screaming along with George saying stupid things about Malfoy to get his attention away from me. Obviously, that didn't work, and Malfoy slammed into me causing me to fall around 10 feet down. I cried out in pain as I hit the ground, but I knew I had just won. With all the power I had left in my arm, I held up the snitch smiling before crying my eyes out. The pain was unbearable almost everywhere, It felt like I broke every bone in my body. I could hear the cheers from Hufflepuff as Malfoy came down yelling at me, saying I should've fallen and not caught it.
