(holy guacamole you guys. 200 views? idk i'm rlly happy about that i'll shut up now please enjoy)
It was ten in the morning. What could they possibly do at this ungodly hour to wake up?
The idea of waking up before noon was one that Aria didn't often entertain, unless Joe needed her to open up the record store, which was mostly just a job for the newbies that worked there. To test their mettle, somehow, as if their ability to stand there and ring up a few CDs whenever someone did purchase something depended solely on how early they woke up.Even so, since she was excited for no particular reason about today, she gathered up her clothes-- dark skinny jeans, a tank top and a grey pullover to top it all off. Once she'd gotten together everything that she could need, she walked across the hallway into the bathroom. Her and Kimmy weren't what you would call 'early risers', so when she saw her roommate in the bathroom, brushing her teeth and looking bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, she was surprised.
"What are you doing up this early?" Aria asked, placing her clothes on the counter, and Kimmy squinted at her.
"I caht tahk while I'm brusin mah teef," she stated simply, and Aria nodded. It was weird, but, once she'd roomed with Kimmy for a while, even that unintelligible gibberish could be discerned.
"You're doing pretty well, actually," Aria said, and Kimmy rolled her eyes, taking a cup and gargling with water. "Are you going somewhere with Michael, or..."
Once Kimmy was through with her dental hygene routine, she nodded energetically, "He says that we're going to go to the movie theater, and just watch whatever movie is going to start soonest when we get there. And we're going to do that all day. Aria, this is a guy after my own cold, dead heart," Kimmy swooned, walking out of the bathroom. Despite her sour morning mood, Aria laughed, "I heard that Luke is taking you places today too. Where are you two lovebirds going?" she asked quietly, and Aria couldn't help but smile at the thought of spending the day out with Luke.
"We're going to go shopping; I'm going to buy an air mattress, for him. And then later on-- I don't know how much later, though-- we're going to the Eiffel Tower restaraunt." she nodded to herself, running a hand through her thick bedhead, cringing when she got to a tangle.
"Ooh, fancy," Kimmy teased, poking Aria's arm, "I think he like, really likes you, sweetie." Her voice lowered itself on the last bit and Aria shrugged, suddenly sort of uncomfortable. She didn't want to think about that kind of thing. Once she started thinking about that kind of thing, about the possibility of one of her guy friends liking her, that was when the fun stopped. When she stopped becoming friends with a guy, and started getting to know him as a lover.
Which was all fine and dandy when her intentions for that particular guy were to date him in the first place, but, this time? Luke was fun. And while she hadn't known him for a long time, and she hardly knew the first thing about him, she was sure that she could work all of that out. With time. She needed more time with Luke, to know him better as a person before she could even consider dating him. He was cute, for sure, but she didn't really care about his looks until the exact second Kimmy brought up the fact that he might have a thing for her.
"I dunno," Aria mumbled, looking away from Kimmy, into the mirror across from her. "I don't really think of him like that right now, Kimmy. I mean I barely know him."
The best thing about Kimmy was that she didn't try to press issues that bothered Aria. While everyone else in her life annoyed her about things like that until her head hurt, Kimmy knew when to let things go. Obviously, she knew when not to let things go, too. But that was a different story.
