She's gonna be spoiled

Brad and I are working on the nursery and I can already tell he's going to completely spoil her, but in a good way. We went to get some stuff for her room and he ended up buying all kinds of things. She now has about 100 stuffed animals and plenty of other toys she'll want as she gets older. I stand in the doorway watching Brad work. He's taking all the wallpaper off the wall using a weird looking scraping tool for to help him. I'm supposed to be in our room sleeping, but I think he knows I'm here so I walk in the room and look around "It looks good."

"You're supposed to be asleep." He says not taking his eyes off the wall. Now that I'm almost 8 months pregnant he's been really caring and not making me help him with things like these that we would normally do together. I want to help with the room, but right now I'm getting tired, and it looks pretty boring so I give in and go to sleep. I get in bed and right away Norman runs right up and lays next to me on the bed making sure that I'm not alone.

Brad comes in our room almost 2 hours later and gets in bed with me on his side wrapping his arm around me "All we need to do is paint, but I've been working on that forever and I need a break."

"Sounds good. I wanna keep sleeping anyway."

I wake up about an hour later and Brad is still sleeping so I very quietly sneak out of bed and change into clothes I can get dirty. The closet is already painted white so we're just leaving it like that and I start to hang up some of her clothes. I push the huge wash basket full into her room and start taking the clothes out putting them on hangers. Everyone who came to the baby shower bought at least one outfit and our parents all bought like 100 leaving us with a crazy amount of clothes. I sort them all out by color and type them hang up until the closet is full. When that's full I just push the basket into the bottom and close the door so the clothes don't get paint on them. I open the windows and then the paint cans and work on mixing it so that it's ready when Brad gets up.

He walks in a few minutes later and pours the paint into the treys for us. We chose a very light grey and some girly decals for on the wall. I take the roller and start to carefully pain along the top and make my way down stopping about halfway. Brad does the bottom half since it's harder for me and I tape around the window and door.

"Are you sure this is going to look girly? I don't want her to have a boy room." Brad asks obviously concerned.

I pull out all the decals we got and point out all the white furniture "Not with all of that, or the pink chandelier you had to buy."

He takes the point and just keeps painting. It's funny watching him because he's basically just laying on the floor with a tiny brush to do the part near the floor even though I offered him another brush. I open the white paint and work on all of the windows carefully. The paint is supposed to be okay for me to smell and not be bad for the baby, but it still is a little strong and makes me feel a little sick. I stare out the window as I'm painting it and stare out past the trees surrounding our yard and to the neighbors yard where the whole family is outside playing. The parents are sitting at the table watching as the kids swing and slide and run around. It's so cute and makes me even more excited because I can't wait for days like that. I go back to painting and finish both windows and the closet doors before Brad is done. He is using a bigger brush now though, so it should go a little faster.

I go back to the closet and look at the basket of clothes noticing a small bag with a box in it "Brad, what's this?" I ask and find him standing next to me.

He reaches in the bag pulling out a box and opening it revealing two small ring boxes in it handing me one "It was a surprise for you." I open the box to find a ring with my birthstone as the center stone in the shape of a heart. Briella's ring is exactly the same since we'll have the same birthstone and they're both gorgeous.

Brad takes the ring from me and slides it onto my right ring finger "You like it?"

"I love it." I wipe the tears off my face and stand up next to him "And she will too."
