*Paula's POV*
"It has been a few weeks since the two have seen or spoken to each other. Though Simon is constantly in the news for becoming a judge on America's got talent, and every picture is either with Paula or Lauren and Eric. Reason being most are wondering what it means for the 'best friends,' and Simon's flavor of the past few years, let's be honest if Eric wasn't born, they wouldn't still be together," Daniel talks on the phone in the kitchen. I wait outside wondering who he could be blabbing to? It's not like him to talk about my personal life with anyone. "Hold on, let me put you on speaker, I can't quite reach the snacks on the top self," I roll my eyes.
"You know why she puts them up there? So if she's tired or not actually hungry she won't be able to reach them without a little work, and when she is hungry, she gets a little workout from climbing up there to get them," I sigh at the voice on the other end of the phone. Of course it was Wendy, my very overprotective, and overbearing sister. Don't get me wrong I love her, but sometimes she can be a bit much, especially when it comes to my and Simon's relationship.
"Oh how charming! I thought it might be because of the children. And question do you know why she's brought them back all of a sudden? She never gave me an explanation, and I thought it rude to ask."
"Well good luck with that, she didn't tell me! I didn't know she had them till she showed up with them a couple weeks ago asking me to watch them. However, you might try Randy. He may know something!"
"Right! Anyway, so why do you think Simon is coming coming back? I mean it can't just be for the show, right?"
"Well he likes attention, he's egotistical and let's be honest his fame in the states kind of dwindled after X factor, it actually started dwindling when he fired Paula. So maybe it could be for the attention, or I know that he and Paula has some time alone a couple of times before he went back to England. I just hope it doesn't turn out bad! She has been hurt so many times and he's only the recent pain in my side."
"Pain in your side? What? It's not like your dating him," Daniel laughs.
"No, but that's my little sister, and I have to protect her from being hurt, again! I just hope that isn't the case! I hope he's only coming back for the fame and attention."
"But you know that will hurt her more. Him acting like she isn't important to him, at all. She would be devastated."
"I'm just tired. I can't be her shoulder to cry on for another time when it inevitably comes to an end. He can't commit, at least not her!"
"That's a bit harsh! I don't think it's that he can't commit, to her, I think that he's scared to commit to her. She's his one true love, like in the fairytales, his soulmate, I think he's scared of what could happen if he fully gave in to her, what would happen if she left him. He would be devastated!"
"Possibly, but while he's running away from those feelings, he's hurting her. While he's trying not to get hurt himself, isn't that your theory?"
"Wendy, I'm not defending him! And I'm not choosing sides because Paula pushes him away too," I gasp, taken back by his comment. I can't believe he thinks that. "She called me a couple nights ago, crying, because Simon had called and said he loved her and she hung up on him. I asked why and she said, 'it hurt too much to love someone you can't have.' My next question why can't you have him? What's the big deal? Apparently Lauren will take Eric away from him if he leaves her, which honestly, she seems the type of bitch!"
"Daniel! I know that might be true, but you know how Paula feels about talking bad about his girlfriends! She wants to be the bigger person."
"Would the bigger person be all over someone else's man when they aren't around, or even when they are around, knowingly and openly flirt! She's the bigger person, but she's also a careless flirt and she knows it," I giggle to myself. Yeah, I do that, but who cares, I don't and if Simon had a problem, he would stop me.
