After 5 years

-5 years later-

Mild is a very old friend of Mew. They know each other since they were in highschool. They have a very strong and selfless friendship. Mild met Gulf through Mew and was a very good friend to him too. They were like crime partners. But now everything has changed.

Mew and Gulf's breakup is the thing he could never accept. All these 5 years he has witnessed what Mew went through. The sorrow, the pain, the heartaches were all too much. There was not a single day when Mew didn't shed a tear thinking about Gulf. Nothing could cheer him up. His condition was very pathetic.

After that night's incident Mild was very scared. So he moved in with Mew in Mew's bungalow. He feared Mew would harm himself. He was the continuous mental support to Mew whenever he broke down. He tried everything to cheer him up but nothing worked. He sometimes becomes frustated of Mew's condition. All his efforts to bring out the memory of Gulf were in vain. The smiley man never ever laughed after that night before 5 years.

Mew is now the CEO of his own company and Mild is his manager.

It was a fine Sunday morning. The two young men were having their breakfast.

Mew: Mild why are you stuck with me here? You have your own life too.

Mild: Let me remind you I am your manager.

Mew: I was not talking about work Mild. I meant your personal life. Find someone to spend your rest of the life with. How long will you waste your time taking care of me...

Mild: I know. Its not that I cant, rather I don't want to. What will happen to you if I get into a relationship?

Mew: Mild I am not a baby. That is not making any sense. I am feeling guilty. You just cannot ruin your whole life for me.

Mild: Okay. I understand you. But I have a condition. If you agree on that then I will think about it.

Mew: What?

Mild: You have to promise me that you will smile more. You have to understand that its over. He must have moved on by now. Its you who is stuck in the same spot for 5 years. What are you still expecting even! Get it inside your freaking brain 'HE IS NOT GOING TO COME BACK'.

Mew tears up. Pain is evident in his face. But this time Mild doesn't care. He needs to put the reality infront of Mew.

Mild: See, let me put it straight to you 'YOU HAVE TO MOVE ON NOW'. I can see it clearly that this is going nowhere. You have to happy again. You have to be normal again. Heartbreaks happen with everyone but that doesn't end one's life. You have to deal with that strongly.

Mew: But our case is different. I don't really know why he did that, why he.....

He choked up. Mild caressed his hand and gave him a assured hold.

Mild: You don't have to tell me that again Mew. I have listened this for a thousand times. You have to keep in mind that I always want the best for you. I dont want to see you suffer like this for your whole life.

Mew: But...

Mild: No but. I will have my life only when you promise me that you will smile again like before and try to be normal again.

Mew:

Mild: Come on... Promise me now. Do you agree on my condition?

Mew: (nods and gives a tight smile with his teary eyes) Yes Mild.

Mew: (to himself)(You have done a lot for me Mild. If you want my smile to have your own life then for your sake I will smile. But the reality is I can never be happy again)

He whimpers

Mild: Hey!!! You got lost again! See you are not keeping your word.

Mew: No no... This time I am serious. I will try to get over all these. I will not be a bother to you anymore.

He tried his best and gave a smile which somewhat convinced Mild.

Mild: I am happy that atleast you are trying. Thank you Mew.
