Buckle up y'all, it's going to get a little complicated later on. Remember the details regarding the powers and you'll be fine😉

*Note that most parts of the chapter is written in the perspective of the Infernos that's why there's a lot of 'The General' instead of 'Xena' but I'll still use 'she/her' just to remind you that it's Xena and not other generals. (Sorry for the complications :,))

She buckled her black steel armor on and strapped her chest plate on, pulling gloves and boots up her limbs and adjusted comfortably in them though her thumping heart was nowhere near comfort. Xena found herself getting ready in her armor alone instead of joining her entire army in the military base.

She had long dismissed herself from the preparation with the army and went to her quarters where she decided to get suited. After giving out clear instructions and commands, Xena excused herself from practically everyone when she noticed her trembling fingers and dried throat. She figured her nerves were getting onto her so she left the crowded and tenses atmosphere in exchange for a calmer environment where she could calm her nerves.

As she gets ready, Xena realized her anxiousness was replaced with anger and determination. Anger that hasn't disappeared since her king and queen's return from Inferno and determination to make the new king of Inferno apologize to Fern on his knees.

Honestly though, Xena was doubtful of this war against the mighty kingdom of flames and fire, the natural weakness of Earth but considering the growth of Fern and the improvement within the army, she begun to see hope. Being a General herself, she had to be strong headed in this game of treachery with no space for mercy nor understanding especially when the lives of innocent is being involved as well. She even promised herself to do all she can to fight off the higher ranked officers of Inferno all by herself to reduce the mass killings of Fern's officers.

Xena was lucky to have an ancient power and fire wouldn't be a problem in her case but as for her fellow officers, they might get stung a little in the battlefield that's why she made the promise to herself.

However, the queen recently told her something that have been bugging her mind and became more worrisome now that she's going into war. She remembered the queen mentioning something about the aura in the council chamber in Inferno, something about the oozing aura from the council members and none of their auras brought ease to the queen's heart. And for that, Xena had to be more careful and observant in the battlefield to find out this strange aura but then again, council members rarely join a war and even if they do, they often sit aside and witness the historical moments.

Anyway, Xena brushed off the thoughts and resumed in getting geared up for the war. She clipped a black cape around her shoulders, covering her upper body where her woman body is more visible. The cape made her looked bulkier which was what she wished for. She figured those Inferno rats must've been waiting for the appearance of the vessel of Adam's Power who is also a general but not many have known her true identity as a woman and she would like to keep it that way in the war.

She tied her long wavy black hair up into a bun before putting her steel helmet on with a jade Fern crest at the side and put her hood on as well. She probably looked more like an assassin than the General of Fern but then again she would like to lay low a little and take advantage from the element of surprise.

After getting all geared up, Xena wore her thick gloves and flattened her palm out, then a long spinning object flew towards her before being caught by her hand. She clenched and unclenched the hilt of the long double sided sword, feeling the small plate within her gloves that she installed after discovering another war-hack which was the involvement of magnets in her weapons. The hilt of her sword and her gloves have magnets, not letting her and her weapon be apart for too long.
