Chapter 13

They finally walked out of the police station after a few more tense hours, heading straight towards the car. It was hard for Jennie to have to go through the accident once again, for a second time, but Lisa was next to her throughout the whole time to hold her hand for support. Jennie was still highly distressed by what happened earlier and a feeling of fear and paranoia were evident in her actions.

Suddenly, Jennie held Lisa's arm and halted her movements, looking up at her with scared and apologetic look in her eyes. "C-can I ask you something?" she hesitantly, almost shyly, asked.

"Of course. Do you need me to get you anything? Are you okay?"

Jennie shook her head, leaving it unclear for Lisa as to what she exactly answered. "I just-" she paused, bringing her gaze down to the pavement.

"What is it, Jen?"

"Jackson hasn't been arrested yet and he's still lurking out there somewhere, and I'm kind of scared to sleep alone at home. I'm scared he will come to finish what he started, Lisa. I wanted to ask if I can spend the night- at your place. Only if it's okay with you, I don't want to intrude or anything"

"Of course you can, Jen. You don't even have to ask" Lisa answered immediately without even thinking twice. If Jennie felt safe in her company, then safety was what she was going to offer her.

But Lisa knew her apartment was really small and the thought of having to sleep in the same bed as Jennie, so close to her small and fragile body and pretty face, was driving her completely insane. She could feel the thick bundles of sweat dripping down her neck as she drove the car through the crowded Seoul streets.

Suddenly, she heard a small growl coming from Jennie's stomach in the silence. Lisa turned to her and furrowed her eyebrows. Hadn't she eaten anything?

"Are you hungry?" she asked.

"Yeah, a little. I haven't eaten since breakfast"

"What!? Jen, it's past five in the afternoon already. Gosh, we have to go by the supermarket to buy some groceries. I don't have anything at home. What do you want to eat?"

"Pizza may be able to lift up my mood" a barely noticeable smile grew on Jennie's lips.

"Okay, pizza it is. Though, I don't know how to make one. Do you, by any chance, know the secret recipe?"

"You just dump whatever you have in the fridge over a piece of dough and throw in the oven"

"Hm, sounds great. But I don't think ice cube pizza would really work well with the oven" they laughed.

"Don't worry. I know how it's done and I'll teach you too"

Lisa had no problem ordering one, but if making pizza with her was what would make Jennie happy, then making pizza was what Lisa was going to learn tonight. They stopped by the nearest supermarket and spent at least thirty minutes deciding the ingredients of their future masterpiece, after which headed straight towards Lisa's place.

"You have been here before so make yourself at home. I'll just go change real quick and be right back" Lisa said and headed towards her small room.

Her apartment was tiny - only a kitchen and one bedroom - but it was perfect and cheap as for a single student. As she was changing her clothes, Lisa remembered that they forgot to go by Jennie's place and grab some necessary stuff for her stay. She didn't have neither a pair of pj's, neither a dental care kit, nothing. Guess Lisa's clothes and spare toothbrush could work for now.

After she changed into a pair of sweats and a black tanktop, she took out the smallest sized pants and shirt she had in her wardrobe and placed them nearly on the bed for Jennie. She walked back to the kitchen, where she found her still unpacking the groceries they bought.
