Alec's pov:
Izzy, Jace and i have searched for this strange girl for nearly a whole week! I honestly slowly start to think that Raphael took her to feed from her and dump her afterwards. That or he is hiding her somewhere where we won't find her. Something about their interaction though let's me guess the second option. They were acting completely familiar with each other. Raphael and I never really were on extreme good terms, but neither on bad ones either. So it came to quit a shock as he threatened me as well as my sister and my pair of a tie. Especially since he was doing it for a mundane! He never liked them. So this whole thing is really confusing and make absolutely no sense at all!
„Alec? Don't you think it's time we talk about it with our mother? She after all is the head of this institute." Izzy quietly asks me when we once more go back towards the institute without finding anything about her. My face scrunches up at that. Our mother never cared for anything other than solving every mission and to get everything done her way. She definitely won't shy away from hurting that girl in her need to get her hands on her. And that honestly is something I would prefer to not allow. I can't describe what it was, but something about her deep blue eyes draw me into her. She also was really frightened of us, still she stood up to us only to help someone she didn't even know. It was obvious that she thought he was a human and not a demon, so how can I hold that against her.
„No. you know How she is! Do you really want her to command the whole institute to search for her? Don't you think she is already traumatized enough as it is?" I answer her. It also frustrates me to no end that she would even suggest something like that. What also irritates me is the fact that i care for that girls wellbeing! I don't even know her, still I want her to be safe!
„Alec is right Izzy. She looked petrified back at the club. It also was clear that she had no clue of our world." Jace to my surprise says. Obviously on my side for this one. Hearing a heavy sigh from my sister, I quickly turn around to see what she wants to say now.
„You guys are right. I don't want her to know either but we also can't keep something like that to ourselves. Or can we?" she asks and that's when I finally realize that she herself wants to protect the girl just like I do. The only reason for her to ask that question was because we usually need to report everything back to the head of the institute which is our mother.
„We did inform her on how we killed the demon. She don't need to know about a frightened girl. It's not like she tried to attack us or something along the lines. As long as we are sure there is no danger coming from her we can keep it to ourselves." Jace answers her and it does make sense in his usual strange kind of way. We all agreed on keeping the girl and Raphael's protectiveness Of her to ourselves.
„I am going to go for a small stroll, meet you a bit later in the institute." I tell them before making a turn to the right. After all those days of thinking and searching, I need some time to get my head all cleared up again. To do this I need to be alone for a change! I didn't even care enough to use the invisible rune. With my mind still going crazy over the last days, I don't pay much attention where I am going to. That however quickly change when I run into a smaller form. When I looked up again I look straight into those deep blue eyes that seem to be following me around since i first saw them in the nightclub.
„You!" i mumble out in complete astonishment. We have been looking for her for the last six days and now we literally ran into each other. The second she recognizes me she seems to fall into a complete panic. Damn it! What should I do now!? One of her hands quickly grasp at her neck, obviously searching for the necklace she had been wearing back at the club that helped them get away from us. I notice it laying on the floor right in front of her, but she is way too into her francy to notice it herself. Deciding that I need to at least try to sooth her, especially since I can see the true terror in her eyes.
„Hey, it's ok! I won't hurt you." I say as soothingly as possible. I even try to take a few steps closer to her, wanting to help her calm down. It's awful to see her this panicked. Slowly her lips even start to turn blue Form lack of oxygen, which makes me realize that I need to act quickly or she may collapse!
„No touching! No touching!" She mumbles out. Her voice breaking with every word she said. Someone really must of hurt her, because this is not a normal reaction at all. I mean even with the knowledge that she saw us kidnapping and killing another being, this is a really strange behavior. The thought alone of someone hurting her makes my blood boil. Not really understanding why I feel so strongly for her, but I also don't care! The only thing important right now is to get her help!
„I won't touch you! Just please try to concentrate on your breathing and I call Raphael!" I promise her while making eye contact, hoping this will help her see the truth within this statement. Quickly I get out my phone to call the one person I know for sure would be able to help her! He might not like me, but he needs to help! For her sake he has to!
„What do you want Lightwood!?" he seethes into the phone what makes me simply role my eyes at him. This is not the time for him to act like that!
„Raphael! You need to come to the subway near the library! Your girlfriend or whatever she is just. Hello?" I quickly tell him only to hear a loud tone beeping in my ear. Did that idiot just cut off the call?! The heel is wrong with that damn vampire!?
„He cut off the call! Asshole!" I mutter under my breath but the moment I see her frantic look i slowly takes a seat close by her side. Of course I make sure not to touch her anywhere since I don't want her to panic even more than she already is. Carefully i pick up her necklace, and just as i want to offer it to her Raphael appears in front of us.
„What have you done!?" He asks me quit furious I might add, as he softly picks the very fragile looking girl up in his arms. I can see how her fingers right away curl into his shirt. Calling him seems to really have been the best choice I made!
„Shh, you are safe! I got you!" Raphael soothingly whispers towards her. His face full of worry as he keeps on eyeing her.
„Lightwood i won't ask again!" he tells me sternly yet again. I however don't care for how he is acting, as long he is going to make sure the girl is safe he can act all childlike if he wants to.
„We ran into each other. As I finally realized who she is she was already panicking. She was grasping for her necklace but it has fallen off of her when we crashed into one another. I tried to sooth her but since she only seemed to panic more i called you!" I answer him honestly. At first he seems rather shocked that I would do something like that, but I am not a monster. He may think so but that's simply not the truth. I only ever kill if there is a very good reason to do so. That girl has done nothing wrong. Of course we want to talk with her and figure out what she is and why she can see us. However not that desperately that I would hurt her!
„Thank you! For calling." Raphael sighed out after a few seconds of silently studying me. Hearing that is kind of unbelievable! It's completely unheard off that Raphael thanks someone. Especially a shadowhunter!! He hates us with a passion! This however isn't that important right now. So since I wasn't able to hand her, her necklace back, I hand it to Raphael now. He seems to be surprised by that but takes it none the less.
„And thank you for the necklace! It means a lot to her!" he answers before he was gone along with the girl. So after this eventful incident, I decide to quite the stroll and instead head on back to the institute.
