19: Delicate

Putting the phone down I took a deep breath in and walked down the stairs towards Liam and them. All eyes were on me.

"Tomorrow I'm going back to my old home I think theirs something there but I need to do this alone" stoping Liam from saying anything, "it's about time I went back home and start acting like the alpha of this pack"

That night I slept restlessly. I kept reliving that fateful day that I had not only lost my mother but my ability to shift, as well as my whole life.

When I woke up for the final time it was only 2:34 am leaving me with nothing to do until the sun rises.

Glancing at Liam lying next to me still asleep and calm, I slowly got up from the bed. I walked towards my purple curtains and opened them slightly to see the night sky still shining.

I walk quietly towards my closet choosing light blue, high waisted denim shorts as well as a shrimp pink tank top, and I paired it with my nude Sandles.

I walked to my bathroom closing the door as quietly as possible before turning on the shower waiting for the hot water to come out.

After my shower I got dressed I brushed my hair out and placed them in a side braid.

Glancing at my overall reflection I decided that I looked good enough to face the day, as I was on my way out the bathroom the reflection of my eyes drew me in instead of just their usual emerald green I saw flecks of gold near the edges. Shaking my head I close my eyes and open them yet again and saw that the golden flecks were gone.

Shaking it off considering that I didn't get proper sleep I walk out the bathroom.

Liam was still asleep as I got out so I quietly walked over to my side and sat down to get my book and phone.
Glancing at his calm expression I couldn't resist the urge to kiss his forehead. He stirred ever so slightly but fell quickly into his calm deep sleep.

I red a couple of chapters and decided to begin some of my assignments considering that I won't be at school for a couple more days. What? I still want to graduate!?

At around 5 am Liam's alarm went off he stirred and switched his phone off, huffing he turned towards me trying to hold me but all he got was pencils and books. Confusion was clear on his face as he opened his eyes, looking at the books before looking at me.

I giggled at his frustration and took my book and pencil from his grasp and placed them on my bedside table.

Seeing that there was nothing in his way he snaked his arm around my waist making me ly down next to him.

"Good morning, you seem to be a early bird today," he said it more like a question than anything else.

Sighing I nodded my head nuzzling my head into the crook of his neck.

"Yeah... I couldn't sleep I guess it's my body trying to get me not to go today,"

"Or maybe to tell you that you need others by your side to help you"

Looking at him I smiled sadly.

"I know it's stupid of me to go one it's just I don't want my pack seeing me as some incompetent alpha well I guess Luna now since you're now apart of the pack"

Sitting up Liam held my hands in his.

"Is that really how you feel? That the pack sees you as weak and unworthy?
Clare this pack adores you and so does mine you are just as much as an alpha as what I am and maybe even more... No not maybe you are more important because a Luna not only guides and leads a pack but a Luna guides, helps and often enough leads an alpha. You are so much more you are everything not just to me but to your family as well as pack both mine and yours."

Smiling I hold his one cheek in the palm of my hand.

"You forgot one of the key words in that speech..."

"And what's that"

"It's not just my pack or just yours it's ours and I realised that now"

Grinning he kisses me softly on my forehead.

"Now that, that's settled he about we have a shower and we can go eat. And once that's done we can both go to your old pack house?"

Nodding I take his hand and we walk to my bedroom door.

"I've already showered as you can see so I'll meet you downstairs and I'll make breakfast, but before you come downstairs wake Jared up and tell him to go to Ash considering that they are I first and second in betas and that they must go to the trackers and ensure boarder patrol around the pack becomes more frequent...well that's if you agree?"

Shaking his head amused he kisses my lips softly.

"Clare that's a great idea"

Grinning I walk downstairs to make breakfast.

As I go to the kitchen I start to make breakfast. But I hear a flutter by the window sill as I get the coffee brewing I walk to the window only to see a beautiful white dove sitting my the bird bath and it's something about the way it landed was so mystical and enchanting, so delicate I couldn't help but be reminded of my mother she was all that and more she was my best friend.

A tear falls from my face I saw the dove as a sign, a reminder that even though she may be gone she will always be by my side.

Smiling softly I turn to continue breakfast feeling lighter and happier whatever today has to bring I will be able to face it.

Hey guys been along time I know but I have alot happening so yeah. This book has alot more to go so don't worry but I've come to the conclusion that once it's finished I will be going back to thoroughly edit it so please keep that in mind but that will only be after I complete this book.
