23: Crystal Clear

My dad nodded and started explaining each pack member that he investigated and their reasons for being taken off the list, some of which Liam left on due to the lack of evidence proving their innocence.

My throat was sore from the crying and my eyes were dry. I honestly had no tears left to cry and that was a good thing it's time that I started being part of this investigation espesially when my own pack members could have been involved.

A few hours later my dad left with his nurse.

After packing up our things I looked around the house. My home for that brief time. I felt heartbroken that it will be left vacant yet again. Then the idea struck me. Why did it have to? I could move in here I was old enough too. It would help when I had to do any sort of paper work and it could be like a headquarters. The new pack house could be used as a place of business and the hotels that were recently made intown could house the visitors it would be good for business for our pack as well.

Liam could stay with me while his parents were still away on business.

Yes, this was perfect.

"Liam?" I called.

"Yeah?" he said walking into the room.

"What do you think of making this my new home... Well...it could also be our new home? I mean I know we are only eighteen but school is almost over and we will then be Alpha and Luna officially you know... And my dad's moving back home in a couple of days which means we won't have any space what with all these investigations going on.. I mean-"

He cut me off mid sentence.

"I understand love and I think it's a really good idea I mean yes Weare the leaders now but it will only officially be our job once we leave school and this would be the perfect home for us we can do work from here of course we would need to go to the new pack house every once in awhile but this will be home."

Smiling I sighed in relief that he understood.

"Yeah we just need to tell my dad and everyone else basically"

Scrating the back of his head realising the task ahead he nodded laughing.

"With everything going on I honestly think this is the hardest job of all I mean I know my parents would be happy whenbI tell them, well that's of they'd pick up the cellphones once in awhile but talking to your dad is like asking for his permission to marry you..."

Sighing I walked into his arms, he wrapped them around me pulling me close placing his head on mine while I nuzzled my face in his chest.

"Don't worry I'm sure the last thing on my dad's mind right now would be anything besides the attack and the threats he would probably think it's best considering how easily they infiltrated my home.."

" It's going to be okay you know this... All of this won't last for ever is only here for a short while and when we sort it out we will be home free well until the next task arrives", he said chuckling near the end.

His laugh vibrated through his chest making me feel safe.

"I know it's just kind of hard to think that there is a way out when your living through it day to day"

"I know but that's why you have me. And Jarred-" he said rolling his eyes chuckling, "- and Andy as well as Ash even though they are acting like the live sick teens they are."

I smaked his chest playfully as I looked up at him which only made him laugh.

"What? They behave worse than what we did and we are both of Alpha lines. You could swear they had some sort of love potion, I mean did you see how quick Ash put a mark and him? And Andy jeez his mark was almost as deep as mine and his human!" he laughed shaking his head in disbelief.

Nodding I laughed with,"Yeah they really have been stuck together like glue this past while huh?"

We stayed in a comfortable silence for a short while, until we decided to lock up and head back to my place. looking back at the house I knew that that would be my home.

As we arrived back at my place Liam went to the kitchen dialling up the hospital to make sure that he could go see my father.

While I went to pack away a few things.

A few minutes later Liam came up stairs to tell me he was going to go tell my dad what we decided and tahnt on his was back he would check up on Ash and Andy. Jarred would be arriving back here soon so I didn't have to feel too exposed.

After he left I went downstairs and started on dinner which was rumo steak with a few vegetables and fries.

In the midst of flipping the steak Jarred arrived with a tired but happy look on his face.

"Hi there Claire Bear Liam told me the news of you guys moving into the pack house? You guys going to ditch me too?" he said in a mock hurt.

"Awww J, you know you could always stay with us I mean we have plenty of space"

He grinned as he walked over and hugged me tightly.

"See, I knew there was a reason why I liked you"

"Oh and here I thought that it was because you saw me as good friend didn't know I had to have a reason for you to like me" I said rolling my eyes.

We laughed at how childish we were behaving.

Jarred started on the fries while I carried on with the rest and I saw how my life was going to be like in the future.

Jarred being an annoying and childish arse. Andy and Ash walking around love sick and Liam by my side all the way.

And for the first time in a long time my future has become crystal clear.
