TRIGGER WARNINGS: gore, blood, sleep deprivation, not-so-nice Ink, nightmare, a bit of Yandere-ness(?), imprisonment(?), one sided argument(?)

A tentacle slashed through the air, killing everyone that was in the way. Blood spilled over the used to be luscious green grass that Dream had grown so used to seeing. When Nightmare ate almost all the apples, the environment changed. Killing all the plants as far as you could see, that is, except their mother.

Another tentacle, and then another, until the crowd of people on the hill were nothing more then multiple corpses that were still spilling their bright red blood on the used-to-be green grass.

The sky was dark, as if the sun just disappeared from this world. The negativity was so strong and sudden, that the world was dark and somber. The air was so heavy and tense, that it was hard to breath in. The world was dying, everyone could feel it.

Nightmare stared at what he did to those villagers, and started to laugh. A horrendous laugh echoed, and Dream felt complete fear. He felt as though he couldn't move, he didn't even realize he was holding his breath until he felt the need to breath.

Then his brother turned over to him, his maniacal grin widened when their gaze met. He raised his tentacles, and they sharpened with harmful intent. They quickly went to strike him, them getting closer and closer until-

Dream woke up with a gasp. Bolting up from his laying position, his eyes zooming around the room for anyone or anything. His breathing was panicked, and his thoughts raced.

The adrenaline that raced through his body only started to slow when he was sure he wasn't in immediate danger. He was in his room in the house Ink had created for the Star Sanses. Only that he and Ink lived there, Blue was usually in Underswap with his brother until he was needed.

Dream groaned before laying back down, looking at the clock on his bedside table.

4:37 am

He groaned once again, before pushing himself up to get ready for the day. He only got about 5 hours of sleep, but that would have to do. He needed to go check on people in the multiverse before Ink got up, then he would have to check AU libraries.

He quickly got dressed, grabbed food, and left the home. He locked the door and teleported to Science!Sans lab. He and Sci had been talking the day before about how to get the goop off Nightmare, but had come up without any answers. Dream wanted to look over their notes to see if he had missed anything, then he would go visit Lust, and etc.

He knew he had to be quick though, Ink usually got up around 8. So he had some hours until then, but he had many duties to do before then. Dream grabbed the notes and started to read them over again.

The door to the lab opened 10 minutes later, showing a sleepy sans by the name of Science. He was holding 2 cups coffee, and without even questioning it, he walked to Dream and gave him a cup. Dream smiled gratefully and started to drink it as he read over their notes.

All they knew was that pure negativity surrounded Nightmare, any negativity seemed to give him power, and they had a hypothesis that maybe pure positivity could burn off the negativity. Dream was hesitant to test that theory though, saying that it could harm Nightmare instead of burning off the goop.

Dream sighed, and Sci took that as a chance to take the notes back from him. Dream let him, and they continued their discussion from the day before.
