His Side

"Hindi kita gusto."

It pains me to see you love someone else while I'm here, witnessing your heart get shattered to pieces again.

Bakit ganon? Rejections. Isn't this the sign for us to stop? Isn't this the time to open the doors to new opportunity? Hindi ko makuha kung bakit hindi maka-move on ang mga tao kahit alam nilang hindi nila makuha ang bagay nainaasam-asam nila kaso hindi naman para sa kanila.

But that was before I met her.

Tinignan ko siya at nakita siyang ngumiti.

Isn't a smile supposedly a symbol of happiness and gratitude? Bakit sa kabila ng rejection na iyon ay nakakangiti pa din siya kahit halatang pilit.

But now I know.

Smile. A smile can cover thousands of emotions without anybody noticing it. A smile is a optimistic action tends to tell us that everything is according to plan. Though sometime its not.

Because I felt it.

"Tara na, West, tapos na ang trabaho ko dito." She laughed heartedly. I laugh with her even though it pained me.

"Oo nga, soon enough, mapapansin kana nun, Gianna." Nakangiti kong saad sa kanya. But in the back of my mind, I wanted her to give up and give me an opportunity to make her feel love.

Ngumuso siya, "Sabihin mo nga sa pesteng kuya mo na mahal na mahal ko, i-i love you too din ako."

I smiled to conceal the hurt as I shrugged.

I'm just her love's brother. Her wingman. Her catcher when she falls.

But when she fall, that doesn't mean its to me. She fell, but he didn't catch her. She then fell to my arms as she tries to reach for the person on top of her as I am left alone, waiting for her to fall again.

We felt the same one-sided ache. I feel for her. But the difference is, I'm right her waiting while she's their pursuing her love. Which I cannot do.
