But then-

"Mommy!"

She then ran up to me and tackled me with a hug. She wrapped her little arms around my neck.

I didn't hesitate to hug back. As if I thought I'll lose her, I bring her closer to my chest and caress
her hair.

"Mommy?"

She breaks the hug a little and brings her little thumbs up to my cheeks and wipes my tears away.

"Stop cwying (crying) Mommy. I'm sowwy. (sorry)" I saw her chocolate brown eyes start to turn
crystals.

"It's okay, baby. I was just surprised." I lightly kiss her forehead and rub her button nose.

"Sweetie?"

I turned around and saw her checking out the contents of the paper bag as she settled herself comfortably on my bed, pulling out the note inside the bag.

"Sss-ha-hamu.s-ha-mu."(s ham u) she tries to pronounce his nickname separating the s from the h. Since Adore's 4 years old, she still struggles to pronounce blended consonants.

"Mommy? Who's S-ha-mu?" she tilts her head to the side with her eyes shining with curiosity, but then it animatedly shines with excitement.

"Is he Daddy? Will Daddy come home Mommy is this Daddy's name?"

"It's Shamu, hon-"

She didn't let me continue as she continued to pronounce his name again.

"Sh-sha-shamu!" She cheered, with her arms in a high V, like she just won the lottery.

"I like Daddy's name, Mommy! Is he coming home? Is Daddy here?" She starts to stand up on the bed, and jump excitedly like a monkey that set free into the wild again.

I slowly sat beside her on my bed as I explained.

"Hon, you didn't let me continue, he's just a friend, sweetie." she then stops jumping and cheering and deflated like an upset flat bouncy castle.

"Mommy, I thought you said lying is bad."

"And it is honey. Why?"

"You're wying (lying). Daddy's not just a friend."

"What makes you say I'm lying?"

"You wook wike (like) a tomato when you wie (lie) , Mommy."

"Oh... it's just hot in here." I sheepishly laugh and try to fan out 'the hot air' with my hand.

"Ok." she said with a mix of tiredness and sadness filled in her voice.

"But Mommy?" she then sleepily rubbed her eyes as if it helps her to keep herself awake.

"Yes? My pumpkin?"

"I wish Daddy's here wid (with) us. "

"I miss him, Mommy. I don't ewen (even) mow (know) him." her head slowly crashed unto my lap sleeping peacefully.

I gently kissed her light auburn hair and smiled contently but then slowly turned to a frown as the guilt slowly churned inside.

I didn't think this through, what if it really was just a stupid mistake. But it's too late for me now. What happens, already happens. I can't change what's in store for me now.

It was the next day, the day that I didn't expect to come. The day that I'll be in the same room with Sean Lew again.

"Thank you everyone for being here. special thanks to ms. rice for accepting our invitation." I curtly nod and smile.
