Bring Out the Best in Me

"Hi! I am Kim Dahyun. Mina's girlfriend. Nice to meet you!" An almost blinding bright smile made the seven people seated around the round table gawked at the still smiling person in front of them.

The girl named Dahyun, worriedly turns to look at her girlfriend beside her. "Are they okay, Minari? Don't they like me?"

Mina shakes her head, she holds Dahyun's hand and squeezes it lightly. "They do, babe. They still just can't believe that I got you."

Dahyun chuckles, "Like how my mom reacted when she learned how 'perfect' you are?"

Mina giggles cutely and nods, "Close enough but they're a little overreacting."

"Is this how they flirt? Why is it very wholesome? You should learn to them, Nayeon, Jeongyeon." Jihyo commented, snapping each of them from their previous gawking.

The said girls glared at Jihyo, "We're not flirting. We're bickering." Jeongyeon defended, glaring at Nayeon too.

"And you're bickering leads to bed and clothes thrown off everywhere? I see." Sana butted in which made the two blushed.

"Would you mind greeting my girlfriend first before your topic leads to somewhere else?" Mina sternly asked as Dahyun's smile grew wide again.

"Right. Hi, Dahyun! You're very far from how I picture Mina's future partner, but better you than anyone else." Sana greeted her, standing up and hugging Dahyun tightly.

Dahyun awkwardly laughs, she patted Sana's back and thank her. They sit on the chairs available as they bombarded Dahyun with questions which the latter enthusiastically answer while Mina occasionally feeds her.

"How did you two... how can I say this?" Jeongyeon asked, she looks at Jihyo for help.

"How do they spend time together? Knowing that Mina is a heavily introverted person while Dahyun is somewhere in between? And lastly, how did they hide their relationship for a year?"

"Perfect, Hyo." Jeongyeon praised her, raising her hand for a high five but Jihyo didn't take it.

Completely opposite, that's how people describe them. One is very energetic, and one is calm. One is very cheerful, and one is soft-spoken. One is physically active, and one is mentally active. One is friendly, and one is timid.

So it's new for the people who know Mina to have a girlfriend known for being cheerful. When she first divulge that to her friends, they did not believe her and even laughed at it. So she talked to Dahyun and asked if she can introduce her now as her girlfriend which the latter happily agreed.

Mina can't blame her friends though, she purposely didn't tell them about her year-old relationship with Dahyun, they also barely interact in school aside from Dahyun's greetings every morning which are meant for the whole group and not directly for Mina so it didn't raise their suspicions. Their moments happen every night with Dahyun sometimes spending the night at Mina's or the other way around.

"Minari is really boring." Dahyun nonchalantly said, causing Mina to cough from drinking and the others to laugh.

"I knew it!" Jeongyeon remarked, laughing at how straightforward Dahyun is.

"Really?" Mina asked in disbelief, but Dahyun holds her hand.

"That is unless I'm not with her.  Mina is very fun to be with, even if we do the simplest thing as lying on the bed, we're still enjoying our time together." Dahyun replied, smiling at Mina. "I always throw jokes and do silly things intentionally just to hear her giggles. I read books with her and play e-games after. I basically do everything she does, if boring means being with her, I'm ready to get bored forever."
