Rosalie snuck quietly into the dorm and up to the top floor, where she saw a figure sitting against the door of her room.

It was too dark for her to make out their face, but when her eyes adjusted slightly, she recognized the spiky hair.

"Kat?" she asked softly. When he didn't respond, she knelt down next to him and tapped his shoulder.

He grabbed her wrist harshly in response, then seemed to process her face and let go.

"Rainbow. What the fuck."

"Why were you sleeping in front of my room, Kat?"

"I was waiting for you, dumbass. It's not my fault you stayed out too late."

"It's...a little past nine."

"Yeah, and you said you were going on a short walk almost three hours ago."

"Oh."

"Wanna explain why you lied to me?" he asked, standing up.

"Rosie!" someone interrupted before she could think of an answer. "Hey, Bakubro, what are you doing here? I thought you said you were going to sleep."

"Yeah, well, he did. Against my door."

"SHUT UP! It's none of your business, Shitty Hair."

"Rosalie!" Mina called from behind the redhead. "You should have told us you had a date!"

Rosalie's face went white. How did they know?

"I..."

Mina pulled out her phone and held a picture out for Rosalie to see. It showed her sitting at the table in the cafe, and across from her, someone obstructed by the wall, only showing some unruly black hair and their arm holding out a bite of cake.

"We couldn't get an angle where we could see her, so who is it?" Mina pressed.

"Oh, I-"

"Mina, calm down! She doesn't have to tell us," Kiri said.

"It's...actually a secret. For her sake. So I couldn't tell anyone!"

"What? Why?"

"Mina, chill!" Kiri scolded. "She doesn't have to tell us!"

"Aw but I want the tea!"

"Leave it, morons. Let's just go," Kat sighed, leaving with a disappointed look.

Rosalie was finally in her room, but she hated this. She hated lying to Kat. They'd been sources of comfort for each other for a while now, but she couldn't tell him about this.

She tried to push the guilt out of her mind. She still had work to get done before she could go to sleep.

An hour later, she was flopping into bed. She held Himiko's sweater close to her as she tried to push away her fears and fall asleep.

It still smells like her, she thought.

The next day was much too boring. She didn't wear Himiko's sweater to try to avoid drawing attention to it. This meant she didn't have anything to remind her of the girl all day. That didn't mean she wouldn't think of her constantly, though. Her smile, her cheerful attitude, the way just being around her made Rosalie forget all her own faults...

"Hey, Rozu, your hair is blue and purple!" Izuku whispered to her during class. "You said red and purple is envy. What's this?" he asked, journal at the ready.

"Oh! I'm not sure yet," she said, honestly still trying to figure it out for herself.

"Aw, man. Let me know when you do!" he said, and she agreed, terrified of what her page in his journal must look like.
