The sun was shining in through the curtains of a creatively decorated room of a creative teen who was sound asleep. The teen, who was lying on her back with her long black hair covering her face, was now getting bothered by the sun rays. She was squinting her eyes to block the sunlight but nothing she did was working. She turned to her left and aimlessly moved her hand on the bedside table to find her phone, with her eyes closed. Once her hands found the phone she pressed the switch on button with her thumb. The screen illuminated back at her with the most beautiful picture of a waterfall you've ever seen. It said the time 7.27 am.

"Oh! No! No no no no! I can't be late!"

The teen, with the beautiful name of Adalyn realised that she slept in for almost 30 more minutes than usual. She had school which opened at 8.00 am daily.

She quickly got up from her bed and went in the washroom. She quickly washed her face, brushed her teeth and did her usual skin care routine. Then she came out and wore whatever her eyes could find. She doesn't care what people think about how she looks like. She values comfort above fashion. After wearing her outfit, she combed her long black hair and went downstairs.

"Good morning mum." Adalyn said as she sat down on a chair in the kitchen.

"Good morning Addie. You slept in late today."
This was her mum, Laura Henderson.

"Yeah I forgot to put an alarm last night so I ended up sleeping late." Adalyn replied with a nervous laugh.

"Its okay hun. Here you go. Pancakes with extra maple syrup." Laura said, while handing Adalyn her breakfast. Laura is an amazing cook. She owns her own café called 'Mocha Aroma'.

"Thanks mum." In case you hadn't noticed Adalyn has a bit of sweet tooth.

As she was already late for school, she gobbled up her pancakes. After finishing her breakfast she put her camera in her bag, slung the bag on her shoulder, picked up her house keys and phone.

"Bye mum!" Adalyn said as she went out the door.

"Bye Addie!"

Adalyn sprinted to her school. Luckily her school wasn't that far from her home. It was 7.45 when she had come out of her home and now it was 7.54, the time when she reached her school. As she entered inside, she let out a sigh of relief. Then she walked to her first class maths.

When she reached the classroom, her eyes searched for her best friend, Lorelai. But when her eyes couldn't find the short haired blonde girl, something immediately clicked in her brain. Lorelai had a minor fever so she was at home since three days. Adalyn went over to the back of the class to her seat, feeling sad as her best friend wasn't there with her.

The maths teacher Mr. Parker had arrived and was blabbing on and on about Algebra. Adalyn was holding her face with her right hand and was making notes with the ball point blue pen she had in her left hand. After the teacher gave them a buttload of homework, the class finally finished.

Adalyn escorted out of the room to go her next class.

Lunch time

Adalyn entered the lunch hall and standed in the line along with the other students. They all were pushing each other so as to make the line move faster.

"Someone tell these stupid heads. Pushing won't make the line move faster." Adalyn said to herself.

As the line slowly moved forward, Adalyn put everything in her plate that seemed to allure her. Then she went over to sit at a table all alone.

"Party! Party at my house tomorrow! Do come!"

This was April, the typical high school snobby girl. She had everything she wanted. Nothing to work hard for.

"Uggh sitting alone at the losers table now are we?" April said to Adalyn in her extremely irritating high pitched voice.

"What do you want April?" Adalyn asked, clearly annoyed.

"I have a party at my house tomorrow. And I am doing you a favour. I am inviting you." April said with a big fake grin on her face.

"No thank you." Adalyn said. Adalyn didn't have much of a social life. She only has one friend who is always there by her side. Lorelai forced her to make an Instagram account. She only posts her clicked pictures there.

"Uggh you are so boring!" April said with anger laced in her voice as she stomped away.

April had always been mean to Adalyn even though Adalyn never did anything to April.

As April stomped away, Adalyn smiled to herself, feeling contented about the face that she made the girl she hates, annoyed.
