"Olivia? Who's Olivia?" Adalyn asked, with her voice raised high.
"It's someone Ruel used to know." Nate said.
"I want to know everything. About who is Olivia and the whole story and about why me and Ruel can't even be friends." She bellowed, attracting attention from other people.
"First of all, Adalyn please lower your voice. Secondly, sit down with us. We'll tell you everything." Nate said calmly, while pointing at the empty seat besides him.
Adalyn walked up to the chair and sat down with Nate. He turned around in his seat to face her.
"So, last year during Free Time World Tour in October, Chelsea had an intern. Her name was Olivia. She was supposed to be Ruel's back up singer for his leftover tour." Nate began. "During the internship, Ruel and Olivia began falling for each other. After two weeks of her internship, they both confessed their feelings for each other and made their relationship official."
"But I didn't know anything about Ruel having a girlfriend." Adalyn said, who was confused by this all.
"It is because their relationship wasn't public. Ruel's family, the team and his friends were the only people who knew about this." Nate explained.
"Oh." Adalyn nodded as everything clicked in her brain.
"Yes. But, after four weeks of dating, Olivia broke up with him." Nate said. Adalyn turned around to see Ruel, looking at his lap and not making eye contact with anyone. She felt bad for him.
"Why?" She asked, while turning back to Nate.
"Don't know." He said.
"What?" Adalyn said, shocked.
"She left me, without any explanation whatsoever. It was an abrupt ending." Ruel spoke up with a shaky voice. Kate, who was sitting with him, hugged him from the side and comforted him as he sobbed slowly.
"Their break-up affected him a lot. He went through depression. His health deteriorated and he couldn't focus on his music at all. He tried contacting Olivia but it all went in vain. We all tried to comfort him, but failed to do so. It was as if he's... changed, and won't ever come back." Nate said as he frowned.
Adalyn realised everything and knew what all they were doing is right. It's for his and her own good. She looked at Ruel again, who was still sobbing and was shaking a little. Kate was comforting him by rubbing her hand up and down his arm and occasionally kissing his head.
"However, after a month he stopped contacting her. He got better and began to meet his friends and family and also continued to make music." Nate said with a small smile. "From what we know, Olivia has a new boyfriend."
Adalyn took a deep breathe before speaking again.
"I get it. You are only looking out for him. He can't go through the same condition again. We won't be friends, but you have to understand, if I'm going to be his photographer, I will have to-"
"Yes yes. You can talk about his photography, but nothing more than that." Nate said.
"Okay. Thank you. But, I don't think we would have fallen for each other." Adalyn said.
"Yes, but you both sort of blush at each other's touch. It may be nothing, but it can elevate easily, so we couldn't take any risk at all." Nate explained.
"That's alright." Adalyn smiled. "And I apologize for raising my voice. I completely regret that."
"It's no problem."
