Fray's POV
Astrid is really mad at me and I understand. I messed up big time. I broke the girl who loved me with all of her for years.
I lost count on how many times I hurt her. I lost count on how many times I took advantage of her love. I lost count on how many times I wasted her time and played with her heart.
I don't know how I managed to do all these shits, I guess I'm just plain stupid. No other excuses. Just stupidity.
"Astrid!" Tinawag ko ang babaeng nakalugay ang mahabang buhok at kumakain ng kung ano sa isa sa lamesa sa canteen.
Saglit siyang luminga-linga para hanapin ang tumawag sa kaniya. Hindi alam na nandito ako sa mezzanine at nakadungaw sa kaniya. Napasimangot ako sa pagkabagot at paghihintay. Ang init-init pa naman at hindi pa ako nakain.
"Dito!" kumaway-kaway pa ako para mapansin niya agad.
Umangat ang ulo niya nang marinig ang pinanggalingan ng boses ko. She smiled widely when she realized it was me.
She picked up her things rapidly and talked to her friends a bit, probably to say goodbye.
I watched her hair bounce as she made her way up to where I was. She looks happy as she stared at me from a distance.
Damn, the girl's got it bad.
I put off my smirk when she came closer to where I was standing.
"Ang tagal mo naman. Kanina pa ako naghihintay rito." panimula ko.
She pouted her lips and looked at me apologetically. My eyes lingered at her thick lips before transferring to her eyes.
"Sorry. Hindi kita agad nakita. Bakit ba kasi hindi ka na lang bumaba? Ang dami kayang nakarinig sa'yo."
"Nakakatamad, e. Ang layo mo, pagpapawisan ako."
She chuckled. "Ang cute mo!"
Damn, what? I expected her to get annoyed at me for being bossy and unreasonable, and she'd find me cute. She's one insane lady.
"Bakit mo ba ako hinahanap, namimiss mo na ako?" The small dimple in her left cheek showed up when she smiled shyly. Her cheeks were flushed.
She's the person that blushes when shy, but still do things that will embarrass her, anyway. Her courage is overflowing. I don't know if I like that trait of her or not.
Mula nang umamin siyang gusto niya ako at talagang nakipaglapit na siya sa akin. Hindi ko nga alam kung paano, pero naging malapit na rin siya sa mga kapatid ko at ngayon, pati kay Mama!
Kahit na malinaw kong sinabi sa kaniyang hindi mo siya gusto ay pinili niya pa ring pasukin ang buhay ko.
Pinagsabihan ko na siya, hindi nakinig. Kaya't hayan nasasaktan kapag may nililigawan akong iba. Pero okay lang naman daw sa kaniya at hindi ko naman kailangang isipin, kaya hindi ko talaga ginagawa.
"Asa ka. I'm just bored and hungry. Nambababae ang mga kaibigan ko, kaya wala akong ibang mahila."
Her mouth formed into an "O" and nodded. Hindi man lang naoffend, baliw talaga.
I brought her to a near cafe to have lunch. It's true that my friends are somewhere hitting on girls. I wanted to join them, but I'm already interested with a girl from another school. Kaya si Astrid ang sinama ko. It's sad to eat alone.
"Uhm... Fray."
I sipped on my water bottle and raised a brow at her.
"Nasabi sa akin ni Logic na yung pinagawa mong diorama sa akin, hindi naman iyo. Totoo ba iyon?" Ngumiti siya sa akin at nag-iwas ng tingin.
