It's been 5 years since I've seen the town of Riverdale. Five years since I've seen or heard from Betty Cooper.
I walk into the Cooper Jones house, as spotless as always.

J-hey dad
Ju-grandpa?
I looked past my dad and saw a little girl. Brown hair, hazel eyes, red dress on and a bagel in one hand, while in the other my stuffed toy, hotdog.
Just then Alice walked down the stairs, wearing flats, jeggings and a dark red sweater. While my dad was in jeans and a dark shirt.
A-hey Jughead
J-hey Alice
I have her a quick hug and then turned back around to look at the little girl who was behind my dad.
Ju-hello, who are you?
J-Jughead, what's your name little one.
Ju-Juliet Rose Jones.
J-Juliet?
Ju-yeah, my mama is on holiday
J-holiday? What do you mean sweetie?
Ju-she would never be home for bedtime, and would act funny, sometimes scary, but never hurt me. She would be sad and cry a lot. She also had a friend who was mean so mama.
J-what?
Dad picked up Juliet and walked upstairs into the guest bedroom. Alice grabbed my arm and brought me to the kitchen.
J-where's Betty? And who's that?
A-that, it's Betty's child
J-bu-Jones, she's mine?

She got me some water and we walked to the island to sit down.
A-when you found out betty kissed Archie you left, Betty was distraught, she started throwing up and having cravings. She was pregnant with Juliet. When she was pregnant she tried calling you, we offered to call but she insisted that she had to do it on her own. You never answered her so she gave up. She gave birth and it was hard for her, she didn't have a C section but it was hard and painful, I could barely feel my hand. She was pushing, she wasn't in the traditional position. The was on her hands and knees. She was crying, screaming and she could barely breath. After she gave birth, she fell into a coma from blood loss. When she woke up Juliet was only a month old. When we came home with Betty, she just went to bed. She didn't even look around, she just went to bed. When Juliet cried she would try and try, changed her, fed her, entertained her. But she couldn't get her to stop crying. She ended having two mental breakdowns and had anxiety attacks almost everyday. She just didn't get up one day, she wanted to, her depression, bipolar and anxiety got the best of her. She never got out of bed. She started to collect herself, but she was always out. When Juliet called me mamma that's when betty knew, she had to step up. And she did, spent everyday with her, Jules started calling Betts mamma, I've never see her so happy. A year ago she met Pablo, he started giving her drugs, it was only experimental, but she got addicted, and when he started getting.......violent, she started drinking. She was a alcoholic and a drug addict. He started beating her more, she was black and blue. She stopped with drugs but not with alcohol, she's in rehab for her drinking. People know, alcohol was her escape.
J-oh my god. This is all my fault.
A-also, Pablo, sexually.......abused her. Went against her wishes and forced himself on her, he got 15 years of abuse and rape, as well as robbery and trespassing, but Betts isn't herself anymore.

J-I'm grandpas boy
Ju-are you Forsythe Pendleton Jones III?
I laughed and looked all over the guest room, that's now light pink and yellow with toys all over the floor.
J-Yeah, call me Jughead
Ju-can I cal you daddy?

Ju-mamma always said that Jughead wasn't your real name but it's what you like to be called. Can I call you daddy?
J-yeah, come here
She ran into my arms and I picked her up, she buried her head in my shoulder and I kissed her hair.
J-do you know where mamma is?
Ju-a place where you get better, wehab

J-wanna go and see mamma?

I held her as I walked down the steps, I went to the door and put on her shoes.
A-where are you two going?
Fp-we are gonna order pizza, what would you like?
J-I would like a double pepperoni
Ju-pineapple please, we are gonna see mamma!
A-ok, and tell her I love her. See you
J-bye

J-so when mamma comes, give her a big hug ok?
She nodded, we waited a while and then came betty, she looked tired, skinnier and damaged. Her eyes looked tired, cheeks hollow and she walked a little slow, she got to the table and sat down.
Ju-mamma!
She ran round to Betty's and jumped onto Betty's lap.
B-hey baby, you ok?
Ju-yeah, I miss you a lot
B-I miss you too baby, so much.
J-so uh, when do you think you'll get out?
She looked over at me, then looked back at Juliet, gave her a kiss on the cheek and sighed.
B-baby, why don't you go and speak to auntie Toni ok? She's at the office
Juliet nodded and carefully for down, then walked away
J-you just going to let her wonder around?
B-everyone knows her, she's ok.
I nodded my head and looked around, then back at her
J-so how long are you gonna be here for?
B-why is that any of your business?
J-I want you to be there for our daughter
B-she's my daughter, not yours, MY daughter, I had her I raised her I spent my time with her
J-you moped around your room and Alice did all the work
B-I was depressed, everything got worse before it got better, so shut the fuck up, you don't get to have a opinion, asshole
J-well it's obviously still bad otherwise you wouldn't be here!
B-it's your fault!
We sat in silence for a few seconds, just looking at the table
B-look, I did try to call you, a lot, non stop, you never answered, so I gave up. That's it, if you wanna hang around and stay in Riverdale be my guest, but don't be sure you are gonna see me or Juliet
J-she's my daughter too
B-when did you find out about her?
J-just today
B-you can wait a little longer, I'm getting out in a week, so you can wait.
J-if anything I shouldn't trust you, your the one that cheated.
B-how many times do I have to apologise, I've had enough, I was worried and insecure, by the way. Did you actually die or not, because you kept telling the stonies they failed to kill you, you tell me that you died, did you?
J-yes, you know I had PTSD
B-you don't think I don't have PTSD, I have it from, being blackmailed by the blackhood, almost being killed by him on two occasions, being drugged in SOQM, almost given a lobotomy, my other fucking personality, called dark Betty and almost burying Archie! Plus my adderall addiction!
Then Toni ran over, handed Juliet over to my and went over to Betty, other nurses came over and carefully got her up and walked her back to her room. Toni then came over to me and sat down opposite me, I caressed Juliets hair, as she slept on my lap.
T-Jughead, how are you
J-could be better, as you can see
T-don't give her a rough time, she's had it hard.
J-I know
T-you know she tried to kill herself when she first arrived?
J-what?
T-she smashed the window, she used her knuckle and punched the window, she cut her wrists, Cheryl found her on her shift, she was on suicide watch for a whole month, it was so awful.
J-Alice didn't say anything about it
T-she wants Betty to tell people in her own time, and I trust you.
J-god, I'm a idiot.
T-that you are jones, also are you going to the reunion?
J-that's why I'm here
T-are you going to leave? After, you know what about Juliet and Betty?
J-I want to be there for Juliet, and see her. I want her to know that I care
T-what about Betty?
J-what about betty.
T-are you going to support her? You should, Juliet deserves better, and if you help her like we all are, Betty will get there.

It was the day of the reunion and Betty had been let out a day early and was now getting ready.

I got out of my car and walked into my old school hall, we were told to bring our kids if we had any, or pets. I got Juliet out of her seat and shut the door, locking it after, I pulled my cardigan onto my shoulders and pulled my handbag on my shoulder. I put Juliet on the ground and held her hand. I looked up at the tall building that stood in front of me and my heart started beating faster, my hearing was blurred by my heartbeat and my breathing quickened.
J-mama
I was snapped out of my trance and looked down at my little girl, who was hugging my leg.
Ju-it's ok mama
I picked her up and hugged her, kissed her head and put her down gently.
B-I'm just nervous
Ju-well, if your to nervous I'll talk just for you, and I'll dance for the both of us!
I laughed and began to walk inside, we soon arrived at the hall and I looked around, music on and all I heard was people chatting children running around and peoples shoes hitting the floor.
Sp-hey Betty
B-hey sweets, you ok?
Sp-yah, but fatherhood with this little monkey it tiring, Josie is doing amazing, as I thought she would.
Jo-aww, baby, stop
B-he's right, you are looking amazing, better then me
Jo-look, at you, your fire. This is our little girl, Crystal, Crystal Rose Peabody, and I've been Josie Peabody for 1 year now
B-congrats guys, I would've been there, but hard times.
Ju-I'm Juliet! I'm 4 and a half, my favourite colour in Dark red and my favourite person is mama and daddy, also papa and Grandma
J-well; nice to meet you, I'm Josie
Sp-I'm SweetPea; you however little one can call me sweets
Ju-I like eating sweet things! Can we go and get some food mama? Please?
I nodded my head and watched the couple laugh and smile at Jules as they gave me supporting smiles.
We walked over to the table and Jules started to pick up a few bits and pieces, I popped a small muffin into my mouth and exhaled. I watched as Jules tried to reach some mango slices.

B-hey, baby be careful with the mango, your shirts white
Ju-ok mama
I watched as she put the mango in a bowel and grabbed a napkin, I looked over at the other table and saw all the "adult" drinks, such as alcoholic drinks, and what not. I looked over and saw bottles and bottles of cider, beer, wine, Sherry, cocktails, gin, vodka. Vodka and I have a very strange relationship. I looked back at Juliet and saw her getting a carton of apple juice.
Ju-mama, cane we go sit down?
I nodded and we went to sit down at one of the round tables by the bleachers.
B-baby, is it ok if we got the table over there?
I pointed to one in the corner. She nodded her head and went in that direction.
We got there and sat down, I got my phone out and watched her eat, I opened my phone and saw the bills that I had to pay, and I'm back in my apartment, my apartment that I'm struggling with. I rested my hand in my hands and took a deep breath.
Ju-mama?
B-yeah?
Ju-can I go play with Auntie Toni and Auntie Cheryl?
B-yep
I looked up and saw her walk over to T and Cher, who both dressed accordingly to the occasion, unlike me.
I looked around and all I could hear was the music blearing in me ear, people got fuzzy, all I could see was blurred. I swallowed and leant on the table, I stumbled and managed to find my way outside. I took a deep breath in and sat down on the curb, I got out my cigarettes and lit one, inhaling the toxic drug. I smoked the cigarette and got out another one, then another and another. As I finished my 6th someone sat down beside me.
J-hey
B-what do you want Jughead?
J-I wanted to apologise
B-and why is that?
J-because what I did was wrong
I looked over at him, he had to be sorry for more then that
J-and, I'm sorry for leaving and now giving you a chance to explain what happened
B-yeah, well it's all done dusted
I got up onto my feet, and brushed off my jeans.
J-so how is everything going?
B-ok, so far anyway
J-that's good, well, would you like to get back?
I nodded my head and we walked back into the hall together.
J-so, should we find our little girl?
B-yeah, let's.
We walked to Toni and Cheryl, who had their little girl in their arms, they got a scientific thingy, were Cheryls eggs were turned into sperm, Toni had their little one two years ago now, they have a cute little mix raced girl with crazy curly red hair. Cheryl was extremely happy about that. We walked over to them and saw Juliet, jug walked over to her and picked her up, spinning her around in his arms. She squealed in delight. Maybe things were going to get better. Maybe.
