Case is determined to take me on a "proper date." And Case decided we shouldn't see each other until said proper date. We technically haven't had sex since the first time due to constant interruptions...but we do have a hard time keeping our hands off each other. He figured waiting until we do this 'right' was the best thing...
I am going to murder Case.
Or at least make him buy me more batteries, since my vibe has already eaten through a set…
Twice. But reconnecting with my best friend has meant the world to me, and now she's fiddling with my hair, intent on making me look perfect for my date. "Hold still."Brandi growls at me while pulling at my hair. "Okay, but OW!" I whine back."White girls and their sensitive scalps. Gawd." She teases as she changes the subject.
"So where is my brother taking you tonight?" With a sigh, I answer back.
"I'm not sure. But out of town. Doesn't want to risk running into anyone we know."
Brandi breathes out a heavy breath."I'm really sorry that you guys have to sneak around because of me."
Practically breaking my neck, I whip around to scowl at her.
"Stop that, we love you and all three of us decided keeping up the lie was what's best for now."
"I know, I just feel like I'm holding you back."
"Brandi, you're my best friend and Case's twin. We would do anything for you."Brandi pauses, studying my face in the mirror.
"You really love him, don't you?"
Catching me off guard with her questionI stutter."I…"
"Have you told him how you feel?"
"No. Not yet. I don't want to scare him off."
"Liza, my brother has been waiting for you for over 20 years. If your braces at 14 didn't scare him off, nothing will."
"Rude!" We laugh together and I feel warmth spread through my chest knowing that the three of us are going to be just fine.
"Thank you, by the way." Brandi states.
"For what?" I ask, my eyebrows furrowed.
"Being my best friend. For making my brother happier than I've ever seen him... I don't know. Just, thank you for being you."
"Oh shoot, I'm going to cry." I wave a hand dramatically at my face.
"Don't you dare! I worked hard on making that smokey eye perfect and you will not ruin it by crying. NOT TODAY, SATAN!"
"Gosh, I love you."
"I know. That's why you're dating me." Brandi winks playfully.
"Not tonight. Tonight it's just Liza and me." Case’s deep voice echos in the room.
I turn in my seat, taking in the easy way Case fills out his grey suit and white button down. The jacket is open and the top few buttons are undone, leaving a delicious sliver of skin that makes my mouth water.
"Jesus, Lizard. You look amazing." His darkened eyes take me in from my head down to my toes. Case bites down on that bottom lip of his nearly making me squirm in my seat.
"Didn't I tell you stop calling me that?"
I scowl Case to make the naughty thoughts go away. He smirks before saying, "Not a chance."
We grin at each other, neither of us moving until Brandi rolls her eyes.
"Yeah, I'm not going to stand here while you two eye fuck."
She leaves the room, and we follow, Case's fingertips grazing down my exposed spine as I walk past him.
"Okay. A few rules: The only room you're not allowed to screw each other in is my room. All the others? Disinfectant is a must. I will not eat on surfaces that y'alls bare flesh has been on, but bleach hasn't." Brandi pokes back and forth between Case and I like a chastising mother.
"Yes ma'am." Case salutes to his sister.
"I'll see you guys tomorrow night for family dinner. And, again because I can't emphasize this enough. Bleach."
She leaves like the tornado she is and I look at Case, biting my lower lip.
"You weren't serious about going out to dinner, right? Not when we have this whole apartment to ourselves?"
I walk closer to him, daring him to make a move, but he holds up his hands to stop me.
"Down girl. I'm very serious. I want to take my girlfriend out. Show off just how beautiful she is. Please let me do this."
I smile with a small roll of my eyes.
"Fiiiine."
"That's my girl."….
The intimacy of the restaurant two towns over is startling as the hostess leads us to our own private booth. The only glimpse to other diners is through heavily tinted stained glass depicting a vast array of flowers that seem to glow with an inner light.
"How did you find this place?" I ask Case, while taking in the beauty of the place.
"My dad always said that this was where he knew he was going to spend the rest of his life with my mother. I guess I wanted to see if history was bound to repeat itself." I blush under his earnest gaze and he goes to take my hand when a familiar face appears at our tableside. April’s cousin from the cookout,Ellen. It’s like we can't catch a break.
"Fancy seeing you two here." She says, glancing suspiciously at the both of us.
"Yeah, it's a small world." Case replies tensely, trying not to show his annoyance.
"Where's Brandi?"
"Um… she's not here tonight." I reply almost too quickly.
"That's odd. Who goes to a romantic restaurant with their significant other's twin?"
"We… um…" My mind scrambles for a reason we would be alone at a restaurant when a slice of chocolate cake with a single candle stuck in it passes by the hand of a waiter.
"We're throwing a surprise birthday party for Brandi! Thought maybe, since this place caters, we should try out the food before hiring them."
Great. The lies are just FLYING out of me at this point? Oh, I opened my mouth to say something? BET IT'S A LIE.
"Oh how fun! I'll be on the lookout for an invitation." Ellen's eyes sparkle with excitement.
"Um… yeah. You're… totally on our list."
"Great, wouldn't miss it. Now I have to go back to my fiance, he'll probably think I skipped out for someone even wealthier than him. Smooches!"
She totters off in her impressively high heels and I grimace when I see that they're in the general dining area… and are able to see our table perfectly. Cousin's fiance lifts his hand in acknowledgment and Case nods back at him, his jaw set.
"I'm sorry, it just… came out."
"You realize we now have to throw Brandi a surprise party, right?"
"Oops?"
"I'll be honest, Lizard. I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. Now I can't even hold hands with you on our first date because it could ruin the lie you have going with my sister."
"I'm sorry."
He sighs.
"I know. I'm not mad at you. Just sad that our moment is over before it even started."
A thought occurs to me and I grin at him.
"Oh, I'm not so sure about that."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
I slip off my heel, running my bare foot up his leg, curving my toes around his calf, until I reach my destination. Gently, I press my arch into his fly, circling slowly.
"Oh fuck." Case grunts through his teeth.
"I don't think I ever realized how much I like tablecloths. Don't you agree?" I purr.
"I might buy stock in them."
"Hmmm."
My toes flex against his growing erection and I grin at him over the rim of my water glass.
"Who knew little Liz was so freaky?"
"Guess you should have made your move earlier."
"Yeah, maybe then you wouldn't have gone to New York." I cease moving my foot and let it fall back to the floor.
"Case…"
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Not now. Not when all I can think about is how hard I am for you."
"Oh?"
"Yes, oh. But you should know turn about is fair play."
"Oh."
Case leans forward. To anyone else it looks like he's simply reaching for his beverage, but under the cramped table it's another story as his fingers slide past my bare knee.
"So. A surprise party, huh?" Case asks, feigning innocence.
"I guess so." I try to keep my face neutral as his palm glides over my inner thigh reaching higher and higher until they reach my essence. Then it's Case's turn to school his face.
"You're not wearing any underwear?"
"The dress Brandi chose shows any lines."
"If she wasn't my sister, I'd be thanking her." Case steals a quick glance at the table near us.
"Remember. Cousin is right over there. Wouldn't want her getting suspicious." He whispers.
"Why would she… ohhhhh."
Case thrusts a finger inside of me with no warning, and I bite down on my lower lip.
"Careful, Lizard. Someone might think something unsavory is happening over here if you don't start breathing."
I let out a long shuddering breath as his finger drags out of me before coming back for more, curving to hit my g-spot.
"Oh God…"
"So wet… I wonder how everyone would react if I threw you down on the table and took you right here."
I fight not to arch my back, instead whimpering a little.
"Do you like the idea of that, Liza? Of people watching while I fuck you?"
"I…"
"Too bad I'm far too possessive to ever do that. Because I feel sorry for everyone who hasn't seen the beauty of you orgasming."
"Case…"
"Spread your legs wider, Liza."
"Why?"
"I want to see just how many of my fingers you can take."
My knees fall open further and a second digit joins his first, quickly followed by a third.
"You're close aren't you? I can feel your walls tightening around my fingers."
"So. Close."
My breathing is uneven, and I'm sure at any moment the waiter will come over and see the wet spot I'm creating on my seat, but then I'm left gasping as Case's fingers leave me.
"Huh… that's unfortunate. I would hate to get kicked out. Have you thought about what you want to eat?"
With an infuriating nonchalance, Case dries his fingers on his cloth napkin before picking up his menu and flipping through.
"I'm thinking some sort of pasta. Light, yet enough to give me energy for later. Hey, are you okay? You look a little flushed."
"I…"
"What is it, baby?" Case smirks as if he wasn't being the devil himself.
"I hate you."
Case throws his head back and laughs. He doesn't touch me for the rest of dinner.
