Had I known you were there

Had I known you were there. Standing right next to me, I probably would've had a mental break.
Yet despite this, I suppose everything worked out in its own way.
"Go inside, and I will wait here. I stared at GateKeeper suspiciously, but once I felt his agitation I trotted on. I didn't want to see what he was capable of once he was angered.
Seeing our home again made me sigh in relief, I wasn't insane, our lives together existed!
Racing to the mat, I found the key, it wasn't dirty, the yard was kept up. And the roses I planted they..."this all better not be a decoy of some sort, do not play with my sanity GateKeeper." I explained devilishly, he grunted in annoyance.
"I'm about one second away, from dragging you to hell, I can go there you know? Open the door, and go inside." Squinting my eyes evilly I did just that.
Smiling, my tears ran their stream lovingly along my skin. As I took my first steps into a place I once called paradise.
A place so delicate, a home to a soul destined for more greatness, than any modern day hero.
A home to Stone, my love.
Getting my act together I sniffled away my gladness, and raced into the bedroom, to find the letters.

              "Why can't she see me?"
"There are rules I must comply with, to preserve your life. If she sees you, you can die. You know who she is here, there can only be so much exploitation from worlds to another.
I suppose you cherish this moment, contain the context clues, and use them. For it won't be easy for you to find her once this is all over. She will have her closure, and move on with her life.
In fact it's going to be very hard for you two to end up back together. You'll lead a life of your own as well. The one I seen for you, before you fell in love with a girl that didn't belong in the first place.
Messing up my peaceful time continuum.
Now back to the reality of this, I am now here to be your...what do you humans call this?
Friendship, yes. We are now friends, because I have to keep you safe, and make sure you're holding up.
No one wants to see their true love as an old geezer. Now come, watch her heart break, to heal. Your letters are truly touching. I in fact, read them myself."
I was having difficulty trusting this man, but coming across my jumbled conscious. Was that he seemed rather young, and his eyes were a stormy gray.
And his hair, a snow felled blonde.
Before leading the way I paused a moment. "Wh-what is your name? I suppose since we are friends now."
"James. My name is James, the GateKeeper."
