This is dedicated to the end of the CHB Chronicles. Tower Of Nero. Thank you, Uncle Rick, for being there, whether it be through Leo, Percy, or Luke, when we needed it. We will miss you, canon PJO. Let's hope you don't stray too far from canon in fanon.
Listen to me very carefully.
You monster.
I won't ask you again. Who were those people?
I'll never tell.
Would you like the chainsaw this time? Or the scalpel, so I can cut your eyes out?
You wouldn't-
A bloodcurling scream tore through the darkness.
Oh, you don't want to know what I would do. TELL ME!
T-they were two demigods. One with black hair, one with yellow. T-they were seeking guidance from Ahklys.
A choking noise, thick black liquid filling her mouth and dribbling down her throat.
Demigods? What were two demigods doing in Tartarus?
I-I don't know, ma'am.
Why are you still talking to me? Weak. You know never to scream. Try again.
Ma'am please no-
Heavy breathing. Another gurgle and the sickening drip, drip, drip of blood.
Hmph. Hardly better. Leave me.
Yes, ma'am.
I dragged my broken, bloody body through the House of Nyx, tears streaming down my cheeks as blood bubbled through my throat and out of my mouth. Sliding through the halls to my room, I fumbled the door open, falling into the bathtub full of liquid darkness. I sighed as I felt my bones clinking back together, my wounds closing and healing. I soon walked out of the tub, looking healthy. Well, as healthy as you can get when you've lived in Tartarus for your whole demigodly life. I'm Jacklyn Roslaes, Daughter of Nyx. And I'm all alone. Or at least, I was. Until someone decided to RUDELY shadow-travel right into my room during my... conference with my mom. As I was finally changed into my clothing, I heard a small cough. I turned to fins a young boy, around 14 maybe, with black hair and clothes. He had pale skin, and overall looked like a ghost. He cleared his throat.
"Are you a demigod?" he inquired. I nodded. "So am I. Nico di Angelo." He stuck out a skeletal hand and bared his teeth at me. He looked like he was in pain. Like it was foreign.
Like it hurt.
Which I wouldn't be surprised about, seeing as he looked like a feral beast. I had seen the other two demigods flash that same grimace, but it looked more welcoming on them. I reached out and grabbed his extended hand.
"So... what are you doing here? And who's you mother?" Nico frowned at me.
"My mother was Maria di Angelo. She died. My father is Hades, lord of the dead. And I'm here because I sensed an unknown powerful demigod living here. And I'm guessing you mother is..." Before I could speak, there was a loud scream and the sound of two people running. I looked out the window and there were the two demigods, one with black hair and one with yellow, running, eyes closed, from my mother and siblings. Nico made a strangled choking noise.
"Percy and Annabeth..." he whispered. I watched silently as they leapt over the river and continued. Nico shook his head and turned back to me, his face stony. He looked at me expectantly and blinked. Suddenly I remembered.
"Oh! Um, my mother is-" I was stopped by the she-devil herself storming into my room. She grabbed me by the ear, not noticing Nico, who was staring at us two with a mixture of shock and horror written on his face. Nyx lifted me up.
"YOU LIAR!" she roared, and brought out an old, rusty knife. "YOU TOLD ME THEY WERE SEEKING HELP AND YOU LET THEM GET AWAY!" I barely managed to control my shaking.
"I-I'm sorry ma'am, I-"
"NO EXCUSES! YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!" She screamed, lashing the knife across my arm. I felt the warm, sticky blood drip down my arm. I took a deep breath, my arm already numb. She next drew her knife across my neck, and I felt my throat fill up with metallic liquid again.
"I-I'm sorry-" I tried to say, but all that came out was another wet gurgle and a spatter of black liquid on the ground. Nyx dropped me. I landed in a broken heap on the ground. Nyx gave me a haughty look, my blood on her hands, and walked away. As soon as she was gone, Nico walked over to me.
"Are you alright?" he asked. Yes, I felt like saying. I'm only dying. I rolled my eyes instead. Nico grabbed my wrist, staring at the blood coming out of my arm. It was pitch black, seeping like paint. "Why is your blood black?" he demanded. Why are you asking me questions when I can't even talk? Nico seemed to understand and grabbed me by the shoulders. "Come on, we're getting out of here. Once we get to Camp, my... friend can heal you. What? Camp? Nico closed his eyes and concentrated. After a few tense moments, I felt the warmth of shadows envelop me.
~Time skip brought to you by Monster Donut~
I opened my eyes in a warm bed, a bright light blinding me. "AARGH!" I yelled, covering my eyes. The light was blocked soon by two shapes. Uncovering my eyes, I recognized the pale skin and black hair of Nico di Angelo. Next to him was a boy with bright yellow hair, like the girl in Tartarus. He had eyes the color of... well, I'm not exactly sure. They were light. He seemed to be glowing.
"W-what color are your eyes?" I croaked. The boy smiled sadly.
"You've never seen this color, have you?" I shook my head. "Well, it's called blue." Blue. What a strange word. I barely had time for thinking, though, when I fell back into dreams. I dreamed of the two demigods in Tartarus, 4 others on a flying boat. I dreamed of Nico, next to a girl with dark brown hair and a man with furry legs. They were protecting some kind of statue. I dreamed of my mother, cleaning her tools for our next conference. Which I would never show up for, I realized. And that, alone, made me feel like I was floating. As I walked along my dream world, I heard a soft murmuring coming from behind an open door. As I got closer, I could make out the words. I felt my arms sting, blood seeping out and pooling on the ground, and as I collapsed, I heard the words shouted in my ear.
"WAKE UP!"
