Chapter 2

Stellas POV:

I spent the night with Jackie, cuddling her and wishing I could take her pain away. "NO GET OFF ME!" Jackie started screaming in her sleep at 3 am I hadn't slept that much considering I was worried about Jackie. I woke her up and she started crying in my arms. I played with her hair till she fell back asleep on my chest. I ended up falling asleep as well but being woken up 3 hours later by the sound of my phone ringing. I knew immediately that it was Emily because I had set her ringtone to the batman theme. "Hello?" I answered tiredly while trying not to wake up Jacky. "Hey, how is Jackie doing?" Emily had asked, a truly concerned tone in her voice " God I wish i could take her pain away, I wish it was me. She's miserable. She kept screaming in her sleep but she's been down for about 3 hours now so I'm hoping she's getting some much needed rest." I said while going to make some coffee "Do you know when you're supposed to come into work? We just got back from a case yesterday so i dont think we'll have one. Just paperwork." Emily said "Yea I'm supposed to be meeting with Straus at 8 and then someone named Aaron at-" I got interrupted by Jackie screaming for me "Hey I gotta go I think Jackie is awake but I'll see you at work?" I asked her while making my way over to the bedroom. "Yea of course call me if you need anything, I'll see you later." Emily said, hanging up the phone. I walk into the bedroom and see Jackie with her knees to her chest crying. "S-stella" Jackie's voice was shaky and quiet. I sat down on the bed next to her and she hugged me, nuzzling her head in the crook of my neck and sobbing. "Shhh it's gonna be ok" I cooed while playing with her hair. I kissed the top of her head and held her for half an hour. She sniffed and looked up at me. "Can we get breakfast from the bakery on Thomas street?" She asked as she cuddled close to me. "Of course we can." I responded checking my phone to see a text from Emily.

Em: Hey, I was wondering if it'd be okay if I bring over some breakfast for the 3 of us and then maybe we could ride to work together.

I smiled at the text and looked at Jackie who was still cuddled close to me, her red hair messy and in her face. I brushed some behind her ear and asked "Emily wants to know if she can bring over breakfast for all of us. I wanna make sure it's okay with you before I answer her." Jackie just nuzzled closer to me and said "Of course it's okay. I like her, she's nice." I pick up my phone and text her back

Stella: Yea that'd be great. I'll share my location with you.

I texted her my location and about 20 minutes later there was a knock on the door, I tried to get up but Jackie had fallen back asleep and pulled me closer when i tried to get up so I called Emily "Hey I'm outside." She said when she picked up the phone. "Jackie fell back asleep and when I tried to move she pulled me closer. The door should be unlocked but If not there's a key on top of the door frame. You can come in." I said. After that she hung up and I heard the door open " Were back here." I whisper yelled as to not wake Jackie up. Soon I saw Emily in the door smiling at the sight of Jackie cuddled next to me asleep on my chest. I lightly shook her awake and she groaned "Whaaaatttt" I laughed a little at her reaction. "Emily is here with breakfast" I said while smiling at Emily. Jackie shot up and looked at Emily standing in the doorway. "God you're an angel I mean I saw you last night but you're really beautiful, AND you're a lifesaver I'm so hungry." Me and Emily laughed and then Emily came to sit on the bed with me and Jackie. Jackey Still cuddled close to me, more for warmth then for protection though. It was 7 am on an october morning in Virginia. After a few moments of both Jackie and Emily staring at me I had realized what I was wearing. I looked down and saw that I was only in a black lace bra and some basketball shorts. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry" I said, my cheeks flushed with embarrassment as I put on my Harvard hoodie that was on the nightstand. "Don't worry about it." Emily said while smiling which made me blush even more. Her smile was breathtaking. After breaking out of my thoughts I realized what time it was. "I have to get ready! Em you don't mind staying with Jackie while I get ready do you?" I asked "Of course not, it's your first day!" Em said. I smiled at her and went to the bathroom to shower. I turned on some tunes and hopped in. After showering, doing my hair and putting on some makeup I went into the bedroom to get clothes. When I walked in I saw Emily and Jackie sitting on the bed talking. I walked over to the closet to find some clothes but Emily walked up behind me and tapped my shoulder. She pointed over to the bed where there was a light pink blouse, white bra and panies and a black pair of pants. "I figured I'd put together an outfit while you were in the shower." Emily said smiling. "Thank you, Em." I responded, taking the clothes back into the bathroom and changing. I put in some nice earrings, switched my nose ring to a stud and walked back into the bedroom. It was now around 7:45, but when I walked into the bedroom I saw the cutest thing I could ever imagine. Jackie was cuddling Emily while she was playing with her hair. It looked like Jackie had fallen asleep but I wasn't sure until Em put her finger up to her lips and signaled me to be quiet. I nodded and slowly went over to the night stand to grab my keys and shoes. Emily slowly got up and put the blanket over Jackie. I walked over and kissed Jackie's forehead before walking out into the living room. "Ready to go?" Emily asked. "Yea, I am." I said before walking out and locking the door. At that moment, my subconscious knew that I would fall for Emily Prentiss.
