Chapter 13

Stella's POV:
"Hell no." Was all I heard before I was walking. I walked all the way to Derkes office and closed the door behind me. "Derek when you go back out there tell them to keep working the case. If JJ and Aaron want to bring in Jack and Henry to play with Kai that's fine. I'm staying here. I know we've spent months looking for Doyle but I can't." I said to Derek and then he walked out. "Mommy are Jack and Henry gonna come play?" Kai asked me as he walked over to me. "I don't know baby, that's up to their parents." I lied down on the couch in Derek's office, I was so tired and emotionally drained. I fell asleep after a few minutes and gave into the darkness where I didn't have to worry about Emily or Doyle.
Emily's POV:
I followed Stella back to Derek's office. Anderson was standing outside the closed door. "I'm sorry Prentiss, only Garcia and Morgan are allowed in here per agent Montgomery's request." Anderson said as I tried to walk in the door. "I wanna see Kai Anderson." I said. It was true, I wanted to see the boy I helped raise before I left. "I'll check with Stella but if she says no I can't let you see him Emily." Anderson rarely calls anyone on the team by their first name unless he was speaking more as a friend then as an agent. He walked into the room and came out only a few seconds later and sighed. "She's asleep, I'll let you go in there but you have 10 minutes." He said. I thanked him and walked into the room. "Emily." Kai said as he latched onto my legs. "Hey buddy I missed you." I said and he looked up at me with sad eyes. "After last time Mommy isn't around a lot and I spend time at Aunt Jackie's and with Aunt Penelope."  as he said that my heart broke. I felt so bad. I walked over to stella and kissed her forehead. I sat down with Kai and played until Anderson came in. "Prentiss you need to go keep working on the case." he said. I got up and said goodbye to Kai, "Are you gonna come back?" Kai asked me. I nodded at him and walked out of the room. I went to the conference room to keep working but all that was on my mind was Stella and how much she was hurting.
Stella's Pov:
When I woke up it was a few hours later. I looked around and didn't see Kai and got concerned. I jumped up and ran through the room looking for him. When I didn't find him I ran out into the hallway and ran to Garcia's office. When she wasn't there I practically smashed through the glass doors of the bullpen. "Where is Kai!" I yelled. Anderson walked over to me and grabbed my hand. "He's in the conference room with Garcia and Prentiss." my eyes widened at the name. I ran up the stairs to the conference room and barged in. "Mommy what's wrong?" Kai asked me. "Nothing baby. Prentiss, can I have a word with you outside." I said as I walked out of the room. "What the fuck are you doing in the same room as my child. You lost your right to even speak to him when you left. Hell Emily, did you even leave!" I yelled at her when we got out of ear shot. "Stella let me explain." Emily said I didn't even wanna listen to her at that point. "Fine but you have 5 minutes before I walk in there and lock you out." I said but wanting to hear excuses. She explained how everyone needed to think she was dead so that Doyle wouldn't hurt us or her. She said the main reason she did it was me and Kai. I fell into tears just listening to her voice. I truly thought I was never gonna see her again. But here we are, seven months later and she's explaining why she 'died'. I don't know why, but I was happy in this moment. I felt like nothing in the world could hurt me until I heard it. "Hello love."
